I've visited universities the world over, and A&M has to be one of the most depressing college atmosphere's anywhere. Almost as bad as Texas Tech.

Totally different situation. You are probably not smart enough to figure it out.

    Good comeback with Mcneal! Genius!

You get to Lubbock, Texas and sand finds it's way into your butt crack. Take a tour through Tech's campus and you feel like you in a bad spagehtti western and not the cool one's with Clint Eastwood.

Never been to A&M, the horror stories involving people of color have forced me to fly over that part of the conitinental USA. Besides why would I want to go somwhere that's gonna charge me 3x the normal price at bars for being on the wrong side of olive. It makes no economic sense. I'd rather fly to Miami and spend my money there.

Selfish move by Tarrell, putting himself ahead of the team. He doesn't deserve to play this week, as much as I'd love to have him out there guarding Ginn Jr.

To be fair, most of the players on the team are pretty stand up guys. Vince always represented the Horns well, as have guys like Roy Williams and Derrick Johnson.

lets get back on topic here guys. i think this is damaging to the horns' chances this weekend. this is seriously depressing. we need all the help we can get to stop their offense...

I'm not to worried. Ginn's not a very good route runner all you need is someone that can stay with him on the deep ball and jam him at the line of scrimage. Dude's a shade over 6'0, Calvin Johnson he ain't. I'd like to see Kelson on him for some plays.

I think another key to defending the pass will be getting a good pass rush on Smith with our D-Line and make him uncomfortable in the pocket which will force him to make snap decisions that could lead to interceptions. Smith really hasn't shown to be a great passer when someone is in his face. His passes this past weekend mainly came with no one in his face. The only thing to worry about is his scrambling threat but I feel confident that the overall speed of the Longhorn defense can swarm and tackle him when he decides to run.

Absolutely right. Ginn hates contact. Last year we kept jamming him at the line of scrimmage, and he seemed almost afraid of getting hit by Huff or Cedric Griffin. Brandon Foster is a smaller DB at 5'9, 180, but I hear he's a big hitter. Drew Kelson will be at LB as far as I know.

DB's coach Duane Akina will certainly have his work cut out for him this week as Brown's status changes our game plan.

This summer my wife (Aggie) and I (TSip) gave tours to A&M and UT to my senior in HS nephew. Honestly he can't go wrong either place, fantastic campuses and facilities that would stack up to any private, let alone state, universities. I think the more urban, diverse (cultural and political), and less-regimented atmosphere of UT (e.g., he won't get yelled at if he steps on the grass kind of stuff) will win out if he gets accepted to both, but I am not going to trash A&M as a University.

Now I am not sure why I am responding to IC because he showed his insight toward Young, UT and college football in general which such claims if I recall he thought Young would fall to the late 1st round, McNeal was better, and Reggie Bush was the slam dunk #1 pick and immediate NFL star on the field (and not just in terms of merchandise star as Bush already is, but actually as a football player)--but whatever, it can be fun to engage him.

As for as Ramonce, he was far more important this year than last. Last year Texas had Charles as well, and of course VY was the biggest threat and playmaker via run or pass. Ramonce was a relative non-factor in the Rose Bowl (couple of plays, 1 TD but also a fumble or two if I recall), except maybe playing Reggie Bush in practice. But this year if Charles goes down not having Ramonce will be huge. And further they lose a lot of other potential big plays from 3rd down (screens to him) and special teams by not having him. He is a big loss, bigger this year than last in the scheme of things mainly because Texas doesn't have VY to create something out of nothing.

Now one final thing, I don't know all the details, but from what I know I don’t support kicking Ramonce off the team anyway. Unless an professional or college athlete (who tend to be big strong guys) commits a violent crime (rape, unprovoked assault), I have a high degree of tolerance for off the field stuff. Probably more than Mack Brown.

They took Gatewood as well. Looks like Harris is the culprit.

THE STATE OF TEXAS } CAUSE { IN THE MUNICIPAL
    } NUMBER _________ { JUSTICE, COUNTY COURT
} { CITY OF AUSTIN, PCT. OR
    } { C.C. AT LAW NO. ________
COUNTY OF TRAVIS } { TRAVIS COUNTY, TEXAS
AFFIDAVIT FOR WARRANT OF ARREST AND DETENTION
The undersigned affiant, who after being duly sworn by me, on oath makes the following statement: I have good reason to believe
and do believe that Brown, Tarell b/m 1-6-85 on or about the 4th day of September 2006, in the County of Travis and State of
Texas, did commit the offense of: Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon Misd A Belief of the foregoing statement is based upon
personal knowledge. I, Deputy A. Howard #2033, am a licensed peace officer currently employed by Travis County Sheriff’s
Department and assigned to the patrol division. The following events occurred in Travis County, Texas. On 9-4-6 at 02:48 I was
on patrol northbound in the 7700 block of IH35 North. As I was traveling northbound I observed a vehicle, also northbound,
swerving from lane to lane. The vehicle was a white 2003 Mercury. The driver was initially traveling in the center lane. On three
occasions he swerved into the inside lane with half of the vehicle in each lane. One 2 occasions the driver swerved halfway into
the outside lane. At one point the driver almost swerved into a car also traveling northbound. The driver of that vehicle was forced
to brake to avoid a collision. The driver then moved back into the center lane. This all occurred over the course of approximately 1
mile. The driver then changed lanes from the center lane to the outside lane without signaling the lane change. At this time I notified
dispatch of my intention to stop the vehicle. I activated my emergency lights as we passed Highway US 290. The driver slowed
but did not stop until we reached Highway 183. I approached the vehicle from the driver side and observed three subjects in the
vehicle (the driver and two passengers who were both asleep) Due to traffic conditions I asked the driver to step out and meet me
at the rear of the vehicle. As the driver stepped out he stumbled and then walked back towards me. Then when I asked him for his
drivers license he dropped his wallet. I then identified the driver as:
    Harris, Aaron 1-30-84
Based on my observations I asked a DWI unit to come to the scene and evaluate Harris. Deputy P. Delafunte’ then arrived and had
Harris perform field sobriety tests. Harris passed these tests but told Deputy Delafunte’ that he had been smoking mar1juana. I then
asked Harris if there was any mar1juana in the vehicle. Harris replied that there was “some”. I asked Harris to sit in the rear of my
vehicle as we made contact with passengers of the vehicle. Deputies Villanueva #1037, Delafunte’ and I approached the vehicle.
As Deputy Villanueva looked into the car he stated that the rear passenger had a handgun in his lap with his hand on it. I then
instructed everyone to return to our vehicle as we called for more officers. Sgt. Strawn and Lt Escribano then arrived on the scene.
We then went back up and made contact with the passengers. We first woke up and detained the rear seat passenger identified as:
    Brown, Tarell 1-6-85
After detaining Brown Sgt. Strawn informed me that gun in Brown’s lap was loaded 9mm handgun. I also detained the front seat
    passenger identified as:
    Gatewood, Tyrell 09-27-84
Deputy Villanueva then conducted a search of the vehicle. Deputy Villanueva located a mar1juana “blunt” cigar under the front seat
of the vehicle. I observed the “blunt” and through my training and 7 years of experience believed it to be mar1juana. The “blunt”
weighed approximately 1.1 grams. Based on the fact the mar1juana was in a common area of the vehicle and accessible to all
occupants I then placed Harris, Brown and Gatewood in custody for Possession of mar1juana less than 2oz.. Brown was also
charged with Unlawfully carrying a weapon. During a subsequent search of Harris’ person Travis County Booking personnel
located an additional .7 grams of mar1juana in his front pocket.
