But premarital sex and the downing of Jack Daniels Hard Cola is a very Christian-like lifestyle. I've been arrested and smoke out on occasion and I'd say I've done very well in my life. I've got an amazing job, an amazing family, amazing friends and about to have an amazing wife. The only thing I don't have is a thesaurus so I could look up another adjective to replace amazing.
Texxx, I find it hard to believe that this starchy, straightlaced attitude is compatible with the lifestyle of a self-described get-laid-a-lot-ter.
Yeah, actually, Max wouldn't beat him down. He'd probably feel really bad that texxx thought that of the lawyer profession.
How can we be so sure? I think it's just because we don't have a bigriceee posting here to inform us of Rice student-athlete criminal activity. I find it hard to believe that no Rice student-athlete has ever been arrested or been caught with mar1juana.
A Rice football player stole a check from my wife and forged her signature for $100. She reported the incident to the head coach. Nothing ever happened and she was never contacted. It happens everywhere.
Weed is as commonplace in Austin as pocket protectors are at Rice. The entire aura of the town is based on freedom of lifestyle. It's not suprising that a large percentage of the college age kids indulge in a little of the sacrament of the counter culture. Write'em a ticket and move on.
Rice handles most, if not all, non-violent, non-felony incidents that occur on campus in house. Many Ricepeople tend to be insular socially and generally stay on campus, where alcohol is allowed just about everywhere (except sporting events). There is basically no such thing as "minor in possession" or "public intoxication" on the Rice campus. Anyone getting arrested for an alcohol violation on Rice campus is basically a total ****ing idiot and shouldn't be at Rice anyway. First offense non-felony weed possession on campus will get you kicked out of your dorm and placed on some form of probation, but will not be turned over to the outside authorities. Only in serious incidences, such as the alleged gang rape of a student by 4 football players this past year (not prosecuted due to the unreliability of the witness and lack of significant physical evidence), get handed over to the local authorities. Riceboys, correct me if I'm wrong. Oh, bigtexx, too bad Bubba Crosby had to quit taking roids after a couple of positive tests while in the Dodgers minor league system. The kid was good while he was juicing at Rice. I love Rice, many of my good friends went there, and I understand your pride in the Owl's student-athletes but your holier-than-thou act is tiresome.
riet.. I doubt there have been 10 or so rice players arrested in the last two years... if there had been we'd have seen some chronicle reports on it I'm sure.. Some small things may happen everywhere, but there are a heck of a lot of universities that don't have as many criminals on their teams as UT does... there are universities who are known for commonly having crminal athletes, and there are those that are known for commonly being clean
Sorry Buck, but no proof. Let's compare apples to apples. Not apples to wild, unsubstantiated speculation. Thanks. Bubba has had success after your alleged speculative incident anyhow. He got called up by the Yankees and performed well in some key situations.
Rice is very liberal with its alcohol policy, you are correct. The closest thing to criminal that has happened on the Rice football team is probably the cheating scandal of 2002. A few players were caught cheating on a test. They were booted from the team. Problem dealt with, end of story. Would this have happened at Generic Large State Institution? pfffftttttttt.....
