https://www.cbssports.com/soccer/ne...tle-chase-and-champions-league-qualification/ Reyna injury not serious. DD
THAT SUCKS.....we need him in the middle, he has been the tone setter there.....gonna be even tougher to qualify....looking like a play in game might be coming. DD
It does suck but I feel like the combo of Luca De La Torre and Yunus Musah, with Tyler Adams can provide a strong enough midfield. We lose his aerial prowess and toughness but, skill wise, I'm confident in that midfield. They can add Gianluca Busio back in as backup and I'm sure Berhalter will bring in Lletget.
Brendan Aaronson is now questionable after being pulled before RB Salzburg's game yesterday with an apparent knee injury. With Weah and Reyna in the fold, I'm less worried but we certainly can use his energy and speed off the bench. Hopefully he's fine. UPDATE: Aaronson is out. No word on a replacement.
Just don't want Berhalter to do something stupid. Yes, 3 points and a first time ever qualifying win at the Azteca would be amazing...but if it's at the expense of qualifying, it's worthless and wasteful. A point would be great and a focus on beating Panama on Sunday should be the goal. But it seems like he's going all in on trying to win tonight.
Good first half, Canada being down a man and a goal screws us a bit in qualifying, tightens things up. DD
Tough game we missed 2 sitters but a point away at Azteca is good.... IF we get 3 against Panama on Sunday I think that locks us in pretty much due to Goal differential. DD
Should've won. Disappointing to think we should've won this game again. Yes, a point in Azteca is a positive outcome. But I've long been tired just being happy with not losing games. How Pulisic missed that was astonishing. Pefok's was the stuff of amateurs. That look on Reyna's face after it happened was classic and sad. Where I watched the game, they had the sound from the UH game so I couldn't hear any commentary. It's always comforting to know the things that haven't changed. mexican players flopping around like idiots. I was glad to see the ref actually give a card for it...even if a couple of the US cards were because of flow.s Things are simple. Win and we're in. It's really that easy. A team that just tied...at home...to Honduras who has been absolutely terrible and hasn't won a game in over a year shouldn't be a threat. We need to go out there on Sunday and absolutely curb stomp them and end any hope CR has of catching us.
when did they start having VAR in qualifying? i thought they couldn't have it because the other countries didn't have it.
Great job last night punching Panama early and often. I'm not crazy about the whole "qualified" banner thing before it's actually done, but for all intents and purposes, we're going to Qatar. Just don't lose by 6. That really shouldn't be too much to ask against a team that has an average age that rivals my Over 35 Sunday night team.
