About time seeing as he wasn't getting much run here. I'm assuming JayGup would've accompanied him if it wasn't for KPJ being banged up atm.
Uh, he was backing up 31-year old Trey Thompkins in Madrid....a second round pick of the Clippers in 2011 who was out of the NBA by 2012 playing in various European hinterlands. Trey Thompkins wouldn't even come close to making this sad-sack Rockets roster but he was deemed more ready to play than Garuba "on one of Europe's best teams".
I was being tongue in cheek . But ... frankly the rockets aren’t an NBA team at this point . Garuba prolly will get better reps and structure in the valley . he looks a little small to me . I don’t think he’s the 6’8” he’s supposed to be . Hopefully he can develop some wing skills because he do be undersized .
The problem is if the Hartenstein Effect kicks in down there and he starts looking a lot better than he really is. If he starts putting up 20 and 12, I'm going to cry. "WHY U NO PLAY GROOBA?!" I hope he does well, though. He definitely has the hustle and he's shown defensive ability. We'll see.
It's hard to tell because NBA heights are such a distorted shitshow of unverified listings with or without shoes. I think he's probably 6'7 barefoot, which would have been previously listed at 6'8 or 6'9 with shoes.
Well if Silas was working to develop players in a development year, he would get realistic real time training; we play House instead because Silas is a very nice person.
