I like that Garuba is already looking to expand his game. This shot from the OKC game (10-22-21) shows just how much the NBA is changing, with a 19-year old rookie forward stepping into an Eric Gordon-like three-pointer on the wing. Garuba's not rushing his mechanics, and something tells me with his work ethic that he'll be able to add this short. I'm sure that the coaches are telling him that he's got to add range if he wants to play.

The nearest comparable that I see to Garuba is Ibaka, who actually added a three-point threat to his game by his mid-career.

Can’t wait to see him in and Josh in the G League. They are going to absolutely destroy people and he can experiment with and try to expand his game there all he wants. Much like KJ Martin did. When he’s called back up, he’s going to be much better.

I would argue he is currently overpaid for what he is giving us.

As bad as the Rockets are the rotation ought to just be:

    P.G. - KPJ (28 min) / BROOKS (20 min)
    S.G. - GREEN (30 min) / CHRISTOPHER (18 min)
    S.F. - MARTIN (24 min) / GARUBA (24 min)
    P.F. - TATE (30 min) / SENGUN (18 min)
    ...C. - WOOD (30 min) / SENGUN (18 min)

Just let Wall, Gordon, House, Theis and Augustin sit until they are traded.

Brooks at 20 mins? He is not good at anything but shooting threes and even that is not consistent. It’s more about who is playing with who. Green should be getting 20-25 mins off the bench. Porter should be getting 30-35 mins and the majority of the time he should be playing with Gordan, KJM, Sengun, and Wood. Tate, Theis, Green, JC could be a very interesting core to a second unit.

I can’t wait to see what coaching does for him, too. Remember how BOTH Porter & Martin changed on their return.
