Houston has enough shooting (Harden, Parsons, Garcia, Lin, Casspi). I want a defender.

If Rockets use the MLE on Gary Neal (he's a restricted free agent)...can the Spurs match it? The Spurs have nothing left...no Exceptions...nothing. I am thinking maybe that's why these players are holding out because they don't know the exact deal until Howard and how much the Rockets have left on July 10th. Corey Brewer is another possibility.

Rockets need a back up shooting guard. Garcia is old so I don't wanna see him running around trying to guard speedy small guys.

The Spurs have Gary Neal's full bird rights, so yes, they can can match any dollar amount.

I say we bring Kostas Papanikolaou over. He seems like a special gunner (50%+ from 3 in any league is impressive. He did it in the best league outside of the NBA). At 6'9" with good athleticism, he can add to our possible list of possible stretch 4's (Parsons, Casspi).

Sign him to a vet minimum and use the MLE on Corey Brewer. Obviously we can't get Gary Neal since Spurs will match any dollar and they won't be over luxury tax.

I think our bench is fine but certainly not as good as it can be. Garcia is good but I wouldn't want to rely on him to be our main perimeter threat off the bench for the duration of the season + playoffs. Casspi can be good but that isn't guaranteed.

We really need one more three point specialist for the bench. Hoping that is Neal at this point but I think he stays a Spur.

is no one sufficed w/ james anderson as the backup 2? don't know why if i'd want a guy like morrow over anderson in all honesty.

dude played extremely well in our system when we played him...

and we seem to have a good number of 3 pt threats....basically every single player on our roster..

I'd love the exception to be used on Billups or Brewer. Would also like Kenyon Martin or Elton Brand for the vet's min. Would leave the team with not only good depth, but veteran experience.

Seems like we need to use the exception to get a backup for Harden as we have plenty of players at every other position.

There are two players that make a lot of sense to me:

    1) Gary Neal. I like that he comes from the Spurs, I love his outside shooting touch and ability to score, and he is quick enough to guard point guards if need be. Would be a good pickup playing behind Harden to give some offense off the bench, or to play with Harden and provide good spacing on the court.

    2) Nick Young. I am not a Nick Young fan...at all. But, for the room exception money, for a 2 year deal -- maybe with a team option on year two -- he could be a solid backup for Harden and a good insurance policy.

Overall, I am sort of hoping for Gary Neal for the room exception.
