I'm comfortable and confident, but I expect Bush to sting us a few times, don't you? I can't think of any other player that I've seen this year that I feel that way about.

I don't think that he'll be enough of a difference in the end though.

SC's D looks pretty good against UCLA and I would say that UCLA has a much better O than CU or A & M.

Coming from CAL I can't stand SC but I will give them their due. If this game continues as is with SC dominating I'm going to say the Rose Bowl is a toss up.

Reggie Bush will absolutely vaporize our defense, especially against Rashad Bobino and our LB's.

We need to play 8 men in the box and hope Leinart has an off day.

The main thing is that we need to stop Reggie. I think our secondary can handle Leinart and the receivers, but stopping Bush is the main thing.

USC is simply toying with UCLA right now....and UCLA is a very good team.

USC is clearly the best team in the country. UT struggled mightily in their rival game vs a horrible A&M squad, while USC is manhandling the #12 ranked team in the country in their rival game.

I think 60-80% of the people have USC winning. I think USC is more used to the national spotlight and they will be more relaxed ( just a bit seeing that we played there last year also). I see them starting strong. Texas will be pushed in the beginning but then our talent will step up.

I think Texas will win by no more than 10 points. We have an amazing running game. Everyone seems to be able to run with the ball. But USC has that balanced, orthodox offensive team because they have an amazing QB, RB and WR. They could explode on us and we will have trouble answering all the time. One good stop by USC after they score, of which they are very capable, and we'll be really in trouble playing catch up.

But remember, we played the great nitty-gritty defensive game against Ohio State and pulled it off. I think we could play the fire-power game against USC and win. In the end, I REALLY feel we have the defense to win this game. Not necessarily stopping them from scoring, but a defense that will contain, and make those special plays (block punts, kicks etc...) which will give Texas an edge late in the game.

44-35 Texas. Go Texas, Hook 'em.

    What horsecrap !

Both USC and UT played in horrible conferences, and destroyed all comers.

Only Notre Dame and Ohio State were good teams on the others schedules, and both teams won AWAY from home.

Gonna be a good game....but I see UT prevailing because they can stop people......at least some of the time.

UCLA is extremely overrated. The Pac-10 isn't exactly a powerhouse conference (I'm not saying the Big XII is, either).

And the rant continues...So I guess USC's 8 point win over Fresno State at home wasn't struggling? Both teams had 1 bad game and they both came out with victories. A win is a win.

Shouldn't you be arguing why some high school teams couldn't beat Rice?

To IC2000's credit, he's been posting just about as frequently since the game. And I believe he has given VY props that he wouldn't before the NC. Bigtexxx really IS awol, though. Honestly, since it was a close game, I fully expected bigtexxx to be on here talking about how UT played the game of their life and USC sucked it up, so of course UT barely won. But he hasn't even tried to do that.

No...there was a gap ... he said he was on vacation.

The only reason I even continue to mention him is because of several ridiculously nasty pre-game posts.

The Texas-haters will be in hiding until next fall. This year has been a nightmare for them, starting with our baseball National Championship.
