That's pretty much how Clyde would say it... exactly at the most awkward, wrong time. well executed indeed.

Damn. I'd still have to believe it to see it but that's pretty amazing.

:( I didint mean to get people mad with my Clyde "things just seem to keep getting worse" comment. I thought thats what you people did here! that and the "how come there are no videos of tmac passing" and "sura faints" and "thats what she said"

Either I'm later to the party or I need 4000+ posts to join.

That is really terrible. :( I read that he might not get his voice back. Speedy recovery to him!

I need to ask my dude if he has a spotter when he lifts...you better believe that I'm going to tell him about this.

Don't even worry about it. People have used that plenty of times when it was in poor taste. That's the point of saying it. I think some people just wake up wanting to whine and then other people pile on. I thought it was funny.

joking about severe and potentially life altering accidents is a tricky business. You have to pick your spots.

    You chose...poorly.

Feel bad for the guy but when I read the story first thing came to mind was the "suicide grip" I wonder what grip was he using when this happened?

You also can't speculate that he dropped the weight on himself due to exhaustion or because he had too much on there. It could have easily just either slipped out of his hand, or he could have missed the rack when trying to re-rack the bar.

I think there's a good chance it just slipped from sweat on palms or he just missed the rack. Most of these kids are usually strong as an ox and I'm sure it's not from too much weights or inexperience from lifting. I'm thinkin it's a freak accident cause 275lbs is probably a routine amount of weight for him to put up.

Yeah - Carroll's presser just aired. Sounds positive for long term, but he won't be playing soon.

I don't exactly how he dropped it, but he must have been able to slow it down some what. Bouncing 200 pounds of you just will hurt after a few reps, but 275 just falling off on your throat seems like it would decapitate you.
