Got back from LA last night around 11, so I've been spending most of the morning catching up at work.

The view from Tunnel 13, Row 2 was amazing. Best $700 I ever spent. It's a great time to be a Horn.

Never understood why that would be?

You spent $700 to go to a game where you probably went with one friend and were around mostly strangers.

I would much prefer saving the $700, going to a viewing party with 20 of my friends, and enjoying the game at a sportsbar.

Same reason I didn't go to any World Series games.

As I have said over and over it WASN'T the same defense. Last year, USC was top 10 in scoring and yards, 2 shut outs, 4 games under 10 points. This year, ZERO games holding opponents under 10 and middle of the pack. The 2005 USC defense produced all the TOs because their offense was so phenomenal opponents were desperate and predictable. This was no more the same USC 2005 team as the USC 2004 team (the one that shut down OU) than the Texas 2004 (that lost to OU) was this year's 2005 Texas team. Each year is different and graduations and injuries change things even if most the marquee players stay the same. (BTW USC has lost 3-4 1st round caliber DLs plus NFL starting LBs and safeties their last 2 years if I recall--maybe not marquee names to casual fans but great players for those who follow closely)

USC was within a nick of winning a championship with a very average Bowl-team caliber defense for 2005. That doesn't happen often and was a testament to their phenom offense.

so im assuming you thought USC going for it at Norte Dame was the wrong call as well? they've been doing that all season, so why was it such a "poor call" now? b/c they lost? hindsight is 20/20. besides, lendale was having his way the entire game.

get real, pal. both teams got hurt by a few poor calls, so dont come spewing that garbage. and even had the refs made the right call, Texas was sitting pretty inside the 10. they would've scored one way or the other.

you should just be grateful i dont call you an idiot like you deserve.

i wish i could find some standard by which to measure the "leinart will be better than peyton manning" comment...because i'd bet my house against it.

I'll bet the house that VY is a back-up QB after 3 years in the league.

I've watched way more UT games than I'd care to in the last two years. Around 10 or so.

My overall opinion on VY? Yawn.

    Fatty-

I think they should change your title to the resident Howard Stern.

fatty i yawn too when a guy accumulates 467 yards of total offense, scores 3 TD's, and leads his team back from a 12 point deficit with 6 minutes left to play in a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP game against a team being dubbed as the greatest ever by every single national media outlet......you are proof that some people just never get it and hate whenever an opportunity presents itself. you can't even give the guy credit for what he accomplished.

and clutch thanks for the bayless article. i think i might email him some of his quotes just to see if he sticks up for them, which he probably will considering he said that usc is still the better team. ;)

So did BJ Symons... multiply. He now plays in the CFL.

BTW, I love how VY is so special because of the yardage he was able to gather. Let's see... #2 Offense vs. #26 defense. A real mind-blower there.

I'd bet your house, that within three years, you would find something equally or more stupid to bet on, as you have in the past, and not have a house to lose.

BJ Symons collected yards using a complete joke of an offense against bad teams in meaningless games. Vince Young does it in a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP game against an "unbeatable" team that still has a lot of players on that defense who will play in the NFL. No USC did not have a great defense but Ohio State sure did and he put up 346 yards of total offense scoring 2 TD's, completing 62% of his passes and pulled off another poised and improbable comeback.

and why do you think texas has the #2 offense?????? vince young.

They were "unbeatable" because of their offense this year. Their defense gave up quite a few points this year.

but remember when UCLA was supposed to give them trouble? only 3 points against USC starters. no their defense isn't great, but they are a lot better than you are giving them credit for. and comparing BJ Symons to Vince Young is like comparing Jon Koncak to Tracy McGrady.
