I got my two wishes: 1. UT won. 2. Reggie Bush didn't get hurt. By the way, I so FREAKING LOVE the fact that ESPN has run like 2 weeks worth of "USC is the greatest team of all time" bull**** programming and just had their asses handed to them by UT. That is just beautiful and priceless.
Of course you are assuming that everything in the game would have happened exactly the same way had the "knee play" been called correctly and we all know that we don't know what the outcome would have been.
Oh **** you Mack Brown. Stop abusing the media by trying to recruit like you whined and complained about you being in the Rose Bowl last year. Maybe if you taught your players to graduate or even go to class they would be literate enough to be interviewed.
Leinart was wicked in the 2nd half. Almost inhuman. His stock JUMPED this game. It was his misfortune to be going against VY. UT's strategy of stopping Bush almost at any cost could have backfired because USC has other players that can beat you. Bottom line: If USC had not gone for it on 4th and 1, the outcome would have been different. That was the only play of the game where UT stacked LenDale White up.
Well, if that was an interception, then you'd have to say that one fumble they ruled an incomplete pass in the second half was, in fact, a fumble...did UT get points off of that...I can't remember. Doesn't matter anyway. Great game.
what bothers me the most about that last touchdown by UT is why USC did not see that coming. It's VY. He's going to run it. It's not that hard to gameplan for VY and UT.
man i wish they waited until after the championship game to give out the heisman. there would be no doubt that VC > Bush.
Man, that was the greatest football performance I'd ever seen. Vince Young=The Real Heisman. If I were the Texans, and Vince Young declared for the draft, I might consider taking him over Bush. ****, the Texans need a better QB any way .
This Texas team has to be considered one of the greatest teams of all-time. They steamrolled to the national title game - averaging around 50 pts a game, five hundred yards of offense, a stifling defense and the best player in college football. And if that's not enough - they defeated a team riding an incredible offense and a 34 game winning streak. They've got to be up there.
I'll get flamed for this but I still think his passing leaves something to be desired. He's good at reading but he lacks touch. That last pass play was a good call but I'm not sure even if the Texas player caught it it wouldn't have carried him out of bounds. Also on many of Vince's passes his receivers weren't able to run after the catch even when they were wide wide open. A QB with better touch could've gotten a few more passes in stride. That said though it almost doesn't matter. They just showed the rushing stats. Vince Young had like 260 yards rushing to Reggie Bush's 82!
on more important things, the Trojans have an Asian for their starting safety? I feel pride my brotha!
I don't care what any doubters have to say, Vince Young proved everyone wrong tonight. He put his entire team on his back, did absolutely EVERYTHING, and won this game for them. That was one of the greatest single game performances you will ever witness in just about any sport. To any doubters: You can just stop talking right now, because nobody will listen anymore. This kid is the real deal. As for Leinart, he showed me tonight that he's immature, and reminds me of Carr. He went on national television and blamed his loss on his defense and said that he STILL had the better team. What a baby.
Woulda shoulda couldas. Texas won and USC lost. That's the bottom line. (And I don't even like the Longhorns. I don't like the Trojans either, but it was an amazing game, so good enough for me.)
