Well it would be that same Olympics problem. Your assembling, in essence, our best superstars (All Star Game) and forgetting IMO the team basketball aspect. The world would probably have to win this one. It would be a good game though, that's for sure.
US team will be in foul trouble with all them floppers on that other team. J/k, it's only dirk and ginobili but my guess would still be US team will win. They have enough outside shooting with kobe and t-mac and I don't see how the world team will be able to defend the US team. Could go either way in a one game shot but in a series i'll go with US in 6 games.
I realize you could include Duncan too but he asked who is going to play center. Duncan could play there as well but it's not like Shaq wouldn't be able to hold his own.
If we're talking two twelve man rosters i think the US team would be too strong. Expect lots of flopping and trash talk. All this stuff about the world catching up is true, but if the NBA put their absolute best players on the floor they'd still kill any team put together right now.
I realize that's what he meant but since when does the "Hack-a-Shaq" strategy even work? Analysts have been blasting this notion for a while now. It doesn't work.
So . .. throw a bunch of internationals together within 2 months of the game and they will automatically know how to play together BUT Americans lack this same ability? Is that what you are saying? Rocket River
exactly...if us players wanted to win gold they could of in very easy fashion but no one really cares about it.
If it's only one game, I wouldn't hesitate to throw Artest in the mix.... It doesn't work because his team's second option is clutch enough to take Shaq out if neccessary. There will be those nights where he hits 75-80%, but the percentages always catches up. I guess you can slide Duncan over at that time, even if he is a bad FT shooter too. Just not as bad.
I can't believe y'all are forgetting the best player MEXICO has seen: Eduardo "Gives-Yao-Fits" Nájera
Tim DUncan would have played on the VI team instead of the USA. VI didn't have a team so he played for USA. Now VI has its own olympic team and TD is sorry he isn't on it and he can't switch.
the game could be very close. I wouldn't be surprised if the world team wins. You got a group of international players who are pretty good and are all star level.....heck the U.S. Olympic team got their butt handed to them to teams like Italy, Puerto Rico, and other team who gave them a run for their money or blew them out and who didn't have many NBA players either.
