I guess I don't like FIBA rulez cuz it takes away from the interior player's game. I'm an interior player.

OK, the US was trying to foul Lithuania and the refs wouldn't blow the whistle

If there was 1 second left on the shotclock, they would've called it.

The USA has the same line, that means they should hit just as many.

What a game!! All due respect to Lithuania for such a great display of skills and shooting! I'll say it again, that # 13 guy Sarunas Jasikevicius is awesome! Imagine if the USSR isn't divided they would've been a much better team.

He will be picked up by scouts pretty soon after a shooting display like that....

Well it's obvious that the USA can't shoot it as well but the short line allows the zone to be even more effective against our teams. We don't have the personnel to shoot that 3 effectively. I know I'm whining but I just hate seeing our team lose. NO excuses for us though. We played well up until the end. Tough lost to swallow.

Great game by Lithuania's PG....I don't want to attempt to spell his name though. He got in the zone and the US failed to put an extra man on him.

Marbury is just pathetic. Someone tell me why he was picked over Steve for these games? Regardless, Dwayne Wade should have been on the floor in the 4th quarter. Poor decision there by the usually great Larry Brown.

Lith PG 9/13 with 28 pts. - See the Rockets should pick him up.

So if US lose the next game,,,,, it is not guaranteed that they will advance, right?

Which makes it even more inexcusable that they didn't send a single pure shooter.

Well if there's any scout who didn't know him before this game, he's likely a scout of the Houston Rockets. :D

I think Lebron and Carmelo should be on the floor more. Eventually Carmelo would start hitting Js.

To be honest i don't mind seeing the US loos because it shows there are a lot of things involved in winning an international cometition.

You can't just think to put a all star team out there and expect to win games, they don't play together any time during the year, there are new rules to learn and you expect them to beat teams that are playing with these conditions everday.

I also don't like the cockiness of the US in some aspects when it comes to the olympics. They are a great team on paper, but the game is played on the court and we are seeing that they don't adjust well.

The US would be better off picking up some players that are US citizens but play in international leagues and also maybe just try picking players that will work together rather than an all star team.

When we have the all star game here they don't play defense and they can showcase and have fun and they play well together. Put those same players against real competition and everyone does there own thing and we loose.

nevermind, refs showed their true colors (hint: they're not red, white, and blue) and they decided to send them to the line every time down the court anyway. two consecutive fouls on that guy while he was driving then the lame ass foul with 1 on the shotclock. way to keep it fair. but hell, when we wanna foul them, all of a sudden no whistles blow.

tim duncan needs to go pack his bags and just go home. jaseckivicius has 5 3's, including a lucky ass 4 point play, and it's a close game, so #13 comes off a pick, does duncan show? hell no, lets watch him shoot, swish. next time down, same play. timmy planning on showing? nah, i'll just chill back here. swish. thanks a lot mvp for choking two times in a row on defense and sealing the game.

marbury, oh my God. what was he? 2 for 84 or something. almost banking shots in he was so off.

and larry brown, my main man. awesome job of inserting lebron in there when things were getting dicey. he really helped turn the tide back to the US. oh wait, nevermind, you benched him damn near the whole game. marbury was working out so much better.

oh well, we'll beat angola (i think) and get to the medal round which is basically all that matters. our seed will suck. of the teams that will make it there i kinda hope we play PR again. i don't see them coming close to their previous performance and think we'll win. everyone else worries me. lithuania can't really play any better than they did today considering the insane 10 points in a minute stretch by #13 and hitting 7 3's. for some reason, spain and argentina are the two teams that really scare me. the others i think we can take unless we go back to our old shooting.

and did anyone hear that amazing stat? coming into the game on 3's, iverson was 7 for 22. the rest of the team was 3 for 40. that is friggin unbelievable. that's 7.5% from a 31% shooting bunch. 4 times worse than you could possibly imagine them doing. at least RJ came back a little today.

maybe i'll wake up at 6 am to watch us play angola. maybe i won't. maybe larry will try to win and play lebron, maybe he won't.

Just give the gold/silver/bronze to ARGENTINA, SPAIN, LITHU

USA NEED TO HAVE ROLE PLAYERS NOT ALL STARS ON THE TEAM.
