That's not the best that team will show though, this team should improve as they spend more time together, instead of the 2002 team that got worse. 42-38 US now...

Half time score: 44-40 US leads.

Germany's playing style is not gonna give US as much problem as Italy did yesterday. Teams that thrive on playing zone with sharp outside shooters will send US home. US has as great a chance of getting the gold medal as not getting any medal. We will see. This creamy team has one huge hole of not having any sharp shooters on the team. All the perimter stud players are volume shooters that are not going to work because AI is not gonna launch 30 shots a game.

I watched some of the Italy game last night and on defense I thought they needed to stop going for steals because a lot of times they never recovered into a 3 would be on it's way in, stay with the shooters at all times. On offense they need to be SELFISH, screw all this making the extra pass, that's not thier game. If Iverson, Marbury, and Wade would of shot more they would of scored more instead of trying to make an extra pass that usually led to a turn over. Not totally ignore your all star teammates or shot over double teams etc. but if you're open, SHOOT IT! Too many times I saw those guys pass up open shots, on a few times even lay ups... Be selfish, hopefully ESPN wil repeat this game on ESPN2 later on tonight...

    56-59... Us down by 3...

Good God, did you see Marion shoot that airball? The lack of outside shooting is killing us.

    Germany up 59-56 now.

Seriously, can we get Jefferson, Boozer, Bron off the team and replace them with Billups, Barry, and Pierce?

Boozer is terrible out there. He can't defend. He can't shoot. And he's missing rebounds. Okafur should get the nod over him.

Anthony's gettting hot out there. Thats what we need. Iverson or
Anthony to get on a streak from the outside.

Nice FB by Anthony and Marbury.

tie game with 1:57 to go

Germans are just zoning down, packing it in and daring us to beat them from the outside.

Is there a worse fit for this team than Iverson?

Seconds later, Iverson hits a huge 3 to put us up by 3 with less than a min to go.
