Team USA has attempted 10 3 pointers so far. Ya gotta be kidding me. Even the Rockets launch up more attempts than that with Cuttino and JJ, and that's without the full zone the international rules allow.

    It's over. Congrats to Argentina.

I'm of two minds here. One one hand, I think this will be a 4-year party for the World because I think the US will absolutely decimate the competition in Beijing, having learned so many lessons about the type of player that needs to be there.

On the other hand, I think after seeing how negative the world and even our country was to the players that represented us, they're going to have a bear of a time getting those players.

Never say never. Cream Team is still poised to compete for a BRONZE medal after losing 3 games in the tourney. With a little bit luck and help from the zebra men, they can beat Italy tomorrow.:)

Agree with those sentiments except for the certain victory in 2008. All the people rooting for this to happen because it would "shake up USA hoops" and make it change for the better should realize that the exact same kind of things were said in 2002, in the exact same way, by pretty much the exact same people.

So we went out, and asssembled an ass-rocking team of bad mother-f'ers for 2003 and blew the doors off of everybody at the Americas tourney, including this same Argentina team. They didn't even have a chance against us then.

One year later, the fire was gone, people forgot, Kevin Garnett got busy, going to Houston nightclubs, and the same thing repeated itself.

Yup, this is exactly what happen in hockey also when the top and favourtie Canadian ice hockey team lost the world championship and got knock out of the Winter Olympic at Nagano. They are going to think real hard of who should've represented the US team.

    Congrats to Argentina!

Exactly. I don't hold anything against the guys that went to Athens and represented us. My problem is with the guys who were invited and didn't go.

I hoped they all enjoyed their summers...

Don't blame them, blame Bush for this chaos and the scare.
