The Greek team looks foolish, including V-Span. He is NOT an NBA caliber rotation player. He made the right decision to go back home.
Thy really got back on track the second half. My observations is that at the beginning greece was in that zone. Greece had their intensity so high. USA coach Mike did a good job in getting his players intensity up. Chris Bosh was a mad man im impressed with him. After a while the freakish athletisism of USA wore down Greece. I expect another run by Greece in the beginning of the second half but it will be halted when USA matches the intensity
I'm happy to see D-Wade back in full force again. He's one of the best at attacking the rim in the game today.
Bosh is simply far too fast and talented for anybody Greece can throw out there Amare Stoudemire must feel like a ****ing idiot for opting out of this, he would have a field day in transition versus many of these teams.
Greeks don't have the 3pt shooting and this time around USA aren't making the same mistake of guarding V-Span like he's a 3pt shooter.
We look a lot better than we did last time, but I am convinced that the major difference between us and other teams is athleticism. When the rest of the world finall realizes that their players need to gain some strength/speed, the Olympics will be a lot more interesting.
Can somebody please tell me why some people call Dwight Howard the 'best' center? He is big, he can jump and he can block some shots but he has no idea what basketball is. He is better than a healthy Yao? Not a chance, at least for now. Try to imgine Yao in team USA.....
I will repeat that Baby Shaq looks like he would have a tough time getting off the bench in the NBDL - the guy was once touted as a lottery-type prospect. He can't even drag his fatness up the court.
Is it just me, or does Carmelo Anthony get his shot blocked or blow the layup like 70% of the time when he's trying to score inside in traffic?
More than any player on the team, Howard is negatively affected by the trapezoid lane. The wide lane also begs for zone defenses which stifle him. I think he needs more time to adjust and figure out how to better use his strength and athleticism under international rules. Chris Bosh used to be sorry and he's just caught on to it this year. I had given up on him.
I don't have a clue but I do know "If" Yao was on team USA it wouldn't matter because they have to much offense on the perimeter and Carmelo in the paint that he would hardly touch the ball. That's why Dwight fits the system better he doesn't need the ball to be effective.
