Tim Duncan played most of his career as a PF.

Robinson, Nesterovic, and Oberto started at C for the Spurs during Duncan's entire prime.

Crown the Spurs. What type of Vegas odds can I get on them winning it all this year? 3-1?

Just checked an it's 7/2. Spurs started out the season 7/1 and now they are 7/2. Can triple your money.

Duncan was listed as PF for historic purposes. Popovich said he didn't want Shaq taking away all star votes.
His game is that of a C. He played C in college. Lol at the Spurs signing shorter players (Oberto, Rose) to play C so they could perpetuate the myth.
He's not the greatest PF, he's the 6th best center.

A professional in every sense of the word. In the last 10-12 years, we've had the privledge of seeing 4 of the 10 greatest players ever in their prime. Shaq, Duncan, Kobe, Lebron

Yep. You should appreciate watching these guys while they are here instead of hating them so you can tell your kids about it one day. I'm of the age to have been able to watch MJ, Barkley, Magic, Bird and Hakeem in their primes as well. I feel very lucky. I remember, in the early 90s, everyone in Houston hated Jordan and said he was overrated simply because they felt he was in competition with Hakeem. Those people sure missed out on watching him play without ridiculous and incorrect bias. I even bought tickets when he was on the Wizards to watch him play in Houston.

Tim Duncan has had a great organization around him no doubt, but he always has been the anchor. All steak, no sizzle.

Tim Duncan's XRAPM over that span. Not perfect but it is probably the best indicator of impact.

    13-14 7th
    12-13 4th
    11-12 4th
    10-11 6th
    09-10 4th
    08-09 5th
    07-08 3rd
    06-07 1st
    05-06 3rd
    04-05 1st
    03-04 3rd
    02-03 1st
    01-02 2nd
    00-01 2nd
    99-00 5th

So yeah Tim Duncan is pretty freaking good. Knowing where to be on the floor at all times has a monster impact, and Duncan does that on both ends, but specifically on defense he is an absolute beast.

He was still better than everyone else while on the Wizards. Check this out:

    Wait what?

Duncan had Robinson early in his career, Ginobili in his prime during the middle of his career, and Parker in his prime later in his career. Those 3 are STARS in every sense at least during those times.

Hakeem had a Clyde past his prime for the 2nd title run, but Hakeem's lack of star help is unmatched. I can't think of another single star team that has won a title (obviously the Pistons had no real stars), let alone multiple

The citizens of the city Tim must be very happy for their Team: the Duncans.

    All silliness aside, that's amazing.

Wow only 9 50 win seasons?? This season aside from the recent injury woes has been a treat. We've been mediocre for so long that it's nice to be building toward a legitimate chance at a title or 2
