    We should be used to overrating players. Look at us and goran dragic. He played well for roughly the same amount of games as Lin and people are ready to overpay for him

    Lin had a better season than Derozan and Klay Thompson, I don't get why everybody is tripping. I agree Lowry or Dragic to be on there though.

    What is the role of the "Select Team"? Do they even meet and practice? Or is this just a list of subs in case someone on the official team drops out?

    Even though its only the Select Team, starting to be sad state for 2-guards in the league when Demar DeRozan is one of the best you can scrounge up. Better than Luther Head, but still...

    Yes, Dragic should there on the USA Select Team

    It's just a group of player selected to practice against the USA team. They try to pick some good competition for them so there is also a good chance of being selected for USA basketball in the future.

    Someone mentioned, its the "jv" practice squad for the regular "varsity" US Team to scrimmage against. They're not there to make the current team. Though naturally a couple of the select players are early hints for future teams.

    There's already 20 players on the USA Team trying to make the final 12 spots where they get subs for the dropouts.
