I'm willing to guess they kept Deron because of his strong showing in the last Olympics. Sometimes it seemed like him and Chris Paul were the only ones playing with their heads instead of just their athleticism, size, and skill.

DWill is better when healthy. It doesn't have to be like an all star game where it's only the best performing players for the season. If DWill is not healthy, he won't make it. And if he is healthy, then he's better, not to mention his shooting is more valuable for FIBA style games than transition speed.

I'd take Conley over Wall for those games as well. But there are only so many spots.

I think with the makeup of the roster, Harden may be an ideal sixth man, with George playing almost exclusively as a 3&D guy.

    PG: Curry
    SG: George
    SF: Durant
    PF: Griffin
    C: Howard

Then you bring Harden in off the bench with Love as PF and Davis at C, run nonstop PnR Harden/Davis with Curry, Durant, and Love spotting up. How stop?

I was just outlining who I think is likely to start by position. Harden will definitely be the sixth man on the squad. George will obviously start.

I think he will skip the '14 World Cup. He'll play in the '16 Olympics for sure, I think.

That sounds ideal; don't forget Westbrook & Rose will be wanting to play too. Harden, Westbrook, and Curry as our bench guards would be insane.

Westbrook and Rose will probably skip the World Cup after their knee surgeries I would think.

No need for a pause here cos I'm secure but um
I'm pretty sure most girls would say

Chris Paul, Lamarcus Aldridge, Deron Williams and Klay Thompson are all good looking fella's.

I'm sure some would even throw in votes for Boogie, Paul George, Kyrie, Bradley Beal and Steph Curry.

Don't know if you are a girl or a guy but if you're a guy, I'm willing to bet your gf/wife/SO/sister/female cousin would tell you all or at least most of the names I mentioned are all good looking dudes.

    THANK YOU.
I don't get the DWill hate sometimes. It's all about which DWill is available. Healthy/injury free DWill or not. If he isn't healthy then he won't make the team. Simple.

Dunno if I'd go Conley over Wall but that's an interesting one for sure.

I'm more pissed off about no Chandler. Regardless of how Hayward is playing this season.

Parsons says it's a joke he wasn't invited:

A few days ago, USA Basketball revealed the 28 players it had selected to compete for spots at this summer’s World Cup as well as the 2016 Olympics.

The list features obvious names such as LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, Dwight Howard, Kevin Love, etc., as well as some younger guys like Klay Thompson, Damian Lillard, Kawhi Leonard, and Gordon Hayward.

With the enormous amounts of talented American players, there were of course players left off the list that felt they deserved to be on there. One of those guys was Chandler Parsons.

Shortly after the list was announced, Parsons tweeted the following:

    Chandler Parsons ✔ @ChandlerParsons
    Follow
    Thanks for the motivation.
    9:56 AM - 23 Jan 2014

After his historic performance last night, Parsons further voiced his displeasure with not being included. When asked about the incident, he said

"You know, I’m going to use that the rest of my career, the rest of the season. I’ve been overlooked, overshadowed my whole life… It was very frustrating."

    He continued,

"A life dream of mine is to play on that team, and I think I deserve to be on that team. I played well in the camp. My game and my versatility, I feel like I’d be perfect for that system."

Concluding, he had this to say,

"I was upset. I still am upset. I think it’s a joke that I’m not on there. But, uh, life goes on. Maybe next time."

With the likes of Kyle Korver, Gordon Hayward and Bradley Beal in the group, Parsons certainly has a point. Ultimately, however, even if Parsons was in the pool he would be a long shot to make the final roster.

At just 25 though, Parsons will surely be on Team USA at some point in his career. Head up, Chandler.
