I guess what I should have said.. I think he committed to a lot of things in order to be allowed to play in nba.. if he hadn't made those agreements and stayed in china would he stil have to play in the olympics etc?

How do you know? Did he tell you so? Even if he tells you personally, how can you be 100% sure that he's telling the truth? Those kind of things are hard prove. Yes, I believe he loves to represent his country in Olympics, same as Dirk, Peja etc. But I don't think he is too hyped about those meaningless warmup games. The arguement is whether he has a choice. IMHO, he doesn't. Look at what happened to Wang Zhizhi, he made a choice, and Chinese bbs are bombing him everyday as a target of traitor, and the TV program even cut the 2 mins he was on the court while Miami facing NO.

I have no problem with what Garnett is doing ... Choosing not to play in the olympics does not make you unpatriotic. If anything, the olympics are all about money now ... following the trend of boxing. With the many scandals coming out of the Olympics and Salt Lake, I don't blame anyone who chooses not to participate.

That said I would still go because it would be an experience(Which KG already has had), but I can understand where KG is coming from. This isn't a money decision for him ... It's a family decision. He is getting married and his wife deserves to have him around for at least part of the year since the entire NBA season he is pretty much gone.
