I basically agree with what Rocketfan007 had to say. Adu has talent obviously, but he just isn't there yet when it comes to international competition. Not only are we deep up front with Donovan, Casey, Mathis, and McBride all likely to get minutes in the future, but Adu isn't even a staple on the US under-21 team, let alone the senior squad. I suppose a lot can happen in two years, but Adu will have to make a lot of progress to even have a chance at the 2006 Cup.
Howard was voted the best Keeper int EPL by the players in his first year. Good going Tim! This makes it 2 years in a row that the best keeper in England has been American. Like hockey playoffs the key to having any serious chance in the Mundial is to have a great or hot goalkeeper, just ask the germans in 2002 and the Danes in '92 and '98 And if it weren't for Torsten Fringes left arm we would be playing Korea in the semifinals and possibly Brazil in the finals. As far as Adu is concerned he'll probably make the roster in 2006 but not play ala Ronaldo in 1994.
