No. Your sources are misleading you. Only two of the 34 witnesses materially changed their testimony. Recanting does not mean what you think it means. Davis's attorney refused to bring those 2 witnesses in front of a court. In fact, he had both sit right outside the courtroom door. The 3 Air Force members all identified Davis as the murderer.

No. Your sources are misleading you. Only two of the 34 witnesses materially changed their testimony. Recanting does not mean what you think it means. Being in the military does not make someone more credible on anything other than military matters. It doesn't make someone better able to identify Troy Davis unless you care to show that he was in their air force unit.

34 witnesses in case means that they were called to testify. It doesn't mean that all of them were eye-witnesses.

In this case we know exactly what recanting means.

It is very possible an innocent man is about to be murdered by the state. New evidence means new trial, period, especially in a death penalty case. "Beyond a reasonable doubt" is the standard, not "maybe." It is a high standard because if a mistake is made, there is no resurrection.

It makes you a more credible witness. As opposed to a prostitute or a drug dealer. As a juror I am more likely to believe a person with a military background.

That's why only 2 of the 34 witnesses are said to have materially changed their story. Those two have never been questioned in court which is what Davis's attorney wants. They aren't credible. Correct, some of the 34 witnesses testified to Davis shooting his gun at a party earlier that night. I didn't claim otherwise.

Their is a reason no judge in some 20 odd years has over-ruled this decision. It is about as black and white as it gets. You are having trouble because you are getting really, really bad information from the anti-death penalty camp.

The air force guys who you claim are reliable never identified Davis. They identified a white shirt.

I have printed the exact words by the 7 of the 9 actual eye-witnesses who recanted. I posted exactly what they said.

Yes, a person in the air force may be more reliable than a prostitute on some matters. That doesn't mean the person in the air force is more reliable than any other average citizen. They aren't more credible about matters that aren't military matters.

I say you are getting bad information and you are since it comes from the Daily Kos. It should be obvious to you that your information is bad.

There is a reason no judge over-turned the ruling in 20 years.

There is a reason Davis's attorney doesn't want Davis's friends who have changed their story to testify. The court specifically warned Davis that his refusal to call his only two genuinely recanting witnesses would make their affidavits worthless. But Davis's attorney still refused to call them.

Actually they are the facts. The eye-witnesses did recant. I understand they weren't used in court. That doesn't change the fact that they did recant. Those are facts. The words I listed from the eyewitnesses were their real words. Those are facts too.

You haven't explained why you ignore all seven of them, but that's fine. The facts are as I've printed.

I'm talking about right and wrong. Not legal technicalities. It is hardly a positive to say that within the confines of the rules and procedures of court things were done sufficiently but there is real evidence that could cause a serious doubt about Davis committing the capital offense.

It boggles the mind how this man was allowed to be executed when so many witnesses revealed that their testimony was false.

I don't know if the other evidence was that iron-proof but if there was no material evidence than clearly it wasn't.

I think there needs to be an explanation from the court system to establish trust - why was this man killed in fact of the information we are all seeing?

It smells really bad.
