Wait... are you implying that the investigations done by SDNY are fabricated just so they can keep their jobs? Do you see how stupid that makes you seem? I find it more likely if they never had to investigate Trump, their jobs would be secure. Like in your warped reality, you would think they would fabricate investigations into less polarizing public officials if the guise of shuffling paperwork on their desks was all that was keeping them their jobs. They'd have gotten less heat from Trump and Barr to replace this AG then. Instead, it would appear this AG is being replaced precisely because of investigations on Trump which would be an abuse of power. Is it registering for you yet?

They need to be removed too... if they are not up for re-election in 2020, then voted out in 2022.

What. seriously? You do know that trump placed Berman in that seat in 2018? That he replaced the previous US Attorney (Preet Bharara) who trump did fire after refusing to resign, along with all 46 other holdover US Attorneys that former attorney general asked to resign?

So it wasn't a case of "past holdover" and "trump should have purged the US attorneys". He did.

And, you do also know that before attempting to fire Berman, barr tried to offer him other positions, suggesting his firing was not for cause (at least, legitimate or legal cause)? And you do know barr wrote this: "With tenacity and savvy, Geoff has done an excellent job leading one of our nation's most significant U.S. Attorney's Offices, achieving many successes on consequential civil and criminal matters."

actually that’s not how it works

the senate confirm many position in the executive branch is how it works

btw, why did Barr outright lied? If he has the power to fire, just do it. But no, he lied to everyone that Berman resigned.

Amazes me when barr and trump will lie about something that will so clearly be proven to be a lie. And they lie with no qualms about lying. Continually.

Then you remember you are talking about the top law enforcement officer and the president doing this.

Heh... perhaps a sign that even senate republicans are hesitant to go along with this latest trump/barr assault on the American rule of law?

Good for Berman, and I hope Trump and Barr enjoy the view from federal prison once this administration is voted out of office.

Lies and lies and lies. Too many to keep up with. He will trip and fall over them, eventually, and don’t be surprised if Trump is the first hyena to take a bite.

That said DA was a trump appointed person. It was his own “guy” until he started to investigate his friends. You want to talk about idiocy maybe you should look at your post

@Aleron at some point you have to realize you’re holding a dick in your hand while typing this stuff out, and it’s not yours

How about he's a stubby piece of ****

Fawning profiles of people make them more intimidating/competent than they actually are.

There's nothing about Barr in a vaccuum that anybody should find impressive other than his amorality and cowardice - which are not impressive things!

Senators like Lindsey Graham might be getting more aware of the cost of tying themselves to Trump. It was one thing to support him when the economy was going well and no major crisis facing the nation but the last few months have been different.

I doubt that they will oppose Trump directly but find ways to carefully curb him using the rules of the Senate.

As I said in another thread if it comes down to replacing Berman through a Senate confirmation with Clayton this would be a good time to see where Senators like Sasse and Rubio stand.
