Rockets or the Spurs will win it. The Cavs have those odds PRIMARILY because of the East (yes, they're defending champs, and loaded, but don't have it)..GS isn't going to win it with what they have out there now...even though they are rolling. When Durant comes back on restricted minutes at a % of his old self, it will mess with them even more.

Almost but the odds don't add up to 100 most of the time. This is due to expected irrational betting behavior. If Vegas thinks a team is overrated compared to media/fan perception, they may increase the line to entice sucker bets, etc. Here are the scaled win % assuming rational betting behavior.

    Team Win%
    GoldenStateWarriors 41.31
    ClevelandCavaliers 27.54
    SanAntonioSpurs 11.80
    HoustonRockets 5.16
    BostonCeltics 2.30

    OklahomaCityThunder 0.91
    MemphisGrizzlies 0.82
    AtlantaHawks 0.41
    MiamiHeat 0.33
    ChicagoBulls 0.27

Updated odds as of this morning. Our odds dropped slightly, though we're still firmly in 4th place. Why would the Rox drop and the Celts go up? My best guess is that people started betting on the Rockets in numbers big enough so that the oddsmakers had to adjust. Since bettors are less likely to see the Celtics actually winning the title, their odds went down to entice betting on them.

    Golden State Warriors 5/9
    Cleveland Cavaliers 13/5
    San Antonio Spurs 10/1
    Houston Rockets 20/1
    Boston Celtics 30/1
    Washington Wizards 50/1
    Los Angeles Clippers 70/1
    Toronto Raptors 70/1
    Utah Jazz 70/1
    Memphis Grizzlies 150/1
    Oklahoma City Thunder 150/1
    Atlanta Hawks 200/1
    Indiana Pacers 300/1
    Miami Heat 300/1
    Milwaukee Bucks 300/1
    Chicago Bulls 500/1
    Denver Nuggets 500/1
    Detroit Pistons 500/1
    Portland Blazers 500/1
    Charlotte Hornets 2500/1
    Dallas Mavericks 2500/1
    New Orleans Pelicans 5000/1
    Minnesota Timberwolves 9999/1
    Sacramento Kings 9999/1

A short time frame adjustment with Harden's wrist PLUS March Madness is down to the final Four. A lot of folks loaded up after that was determined...Mucho foolhardy $$$ going into GS! To hold at 20 after that is pretty good, actually. If the Beard's wrist is okay..I'd expect it to move down from here.

The real money seems to be better the East champ currently:

    Cleveland Cavaliers 5/16
    Boston Celtics 4/1
    Washington Wizards 10/1
    Toronto Raptors 18/1

Betting on Celtics, Wizards and Raptors (hedging vs anyone but Cleveland) seems like a fairly savvy bet. Even bet on all 3 means profit if anyone but Cleveland makes it and huge profit if the Wiz or Raptors make it.

The only thing that update shows me is Dwight Howard has a legitimate chance to be a champion this year.

Don't forget that betting odds are also affected by how people wager. If a lot of people bet on the Rockets, their odds will drop. So it's not purely probabilities of winning.

    Per ESPN:

The Houston Rockets' odds to win the NBA title improved from 30-1 to 15-1 at the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas, after the reported trade for Chris Paul.

The Los Angeles Clippers fell from 40-1 to 100-1.
