He's a skilled big man, who could be stashed overseas for the next season or two. Picking him late in the first round is a good gamble, because those teams don't need as much help right now. From ESPN ------------------

The last thing we need is a Troy Murphy. We already have Jason Collier. Murphy is clumsy as hell, and NOT a good defender. ------------------
Lil Francis: I've watched him in the Big East for the last 3 years as well. There's a lot of bad blood between BC and Notre Dame, so I might be a bit biased... ...but Murphy isn't very athletic. He was a tremendous college player. I've seldom seen someone of his equal at pure SCORING ability. He could post up, shoot the 3, and drive to the hoop. But he was bigger than the competition, and didn't have to make his own shots through athleticism. That said, I bet Murphy has a better career than Michael Bradley. I fully expect Bradley to be a massive flop, after having seen him play in person a few times. I think Murphy might be a bit underrated now - sometimes, he reminds me a bit of Wally Sczerbiak. If he ends up being just a tad quicker than everyone thinks him, he could be a very valuable player. I'm not comfortable enough with that bet though, to take him until the end of the first round. ------------------ Lacking inspiration at the moment...
