Easy. Man. He is probably not living in this country and does not know the subtle difference in words. As in another post, some guy compared Chinese American to native American. I am sure the guy does not know the meaning of native American.

If the fans here in the ClutchCity take actions, Yao will be #2.

Cuttino Mobley, in all likelyhood, was voted in only by the Rockets fans.

Therefore, only around 131K Rockets fans voted. The true number could be way less due to multiple posts ( I myself voted like 30 times)

    Pretty sad!

Besides all the other complaining about 'American American', I don't know what this post means. You are saying, if I understand, that a lot of non-Chinese Americans are voting for Shaq, but, because Yao is more likeable, non-Chinese Americans are voting for Yao? But, you just said they were voting for Shaq.

Besides all that, Asian Americans do not constitute a very significant part of the American population. While I would bet that a Chinese American voting contingent probably helps Yao in the paper balloting, I would also bet he would still be leading Shaq in the non-Chinese American voting.

No, it must be higher than that. There seems to be a pretty healthy contingent of posters here who think it is their civic duty to vote for the best guards and not their favorite guards. There is another healthy contingent of posters who would vote for their favorite guards, but like just about every other guard in the conference more than they like Mobley.

Gosh, the choices for East forwards are horrible. After O'Neal, there's not a true All-Star out there, at least for this year.

I also vote almost exclusively for Steve and Yao. I only voted a couple of times for Cuttino. While there are other guards I like more, and more deserving than Cuttino...deserving doesn't count in all star voting. The sooner we accept that, the less we'll be "horrified" at the results.

I also NEVER voted for a second Western guard(other than Cuttino)because a vote for another guard is potentially a vote against Steve in the grand total.

I haven't seen racism a big problem in real life yet, probably it's because I'm living in NYC. When I voted, I never had a thought if he's white, black or asian. I like TD and cute TMac while hate Shaq, the same for white players Bibby vs. B. Miller.

    Like or dislike, just personally.

Regret voting for Tmac now. I hope Yao overtakes him. Also, Cat was ahead of Stockton, what happened?

Voting ends in 3 days, right? Steve should be safe.

I see some of you misunderstood my point. what I want to say is: some people just attribute Yao's lead over Shaq to the fact that he has votes from Chinese, but if ethnic origin is the source of his support, Shaq has the advantage, at least when we count the paper ballot. As far as I can tell, there are more black BB fans than Chinese BB fans in the states.

    Forgiven.

Come on guys and gals, let's leave the touchy subjects for the Hangout. The Rockets are 5 games over level and going strong...be happy.

Carter certainly does not deserve to be 2nd. He's hardly played this year. We still have time to get Yao to replace him, and why not get Steve in the top 10.
