If we could get Ronnie Turiaf and smush parker out of the deal i would be a very happy man. Smush is athletic, young and can play some d. Ronnie has great up side and can give us some much needed size and rebounding inside at the 4.

Umm.. how can the lakers absorb $7.3 million in salary and send back a little over $1M? Unless they are under the cap, I don't see how this is possible...

I mean the only way I can think of this working is.. if they can structure it in 2 trades such that the Rockets use the $4M TE on McKie and Cook, and the Lakers in turn use their newly created $4M TE on a Rockets player with $4M in salary (which certainly can't be Juwan, as he earns more than that) and an additional $2M TE (if they have it) on Luther. They can't combine the new $4M TE with another $2M TE to use on Juwan, as TEs cannot be combined.

This would give the Rockets a new $4M TE and a $2M TE, which they can't combine. Not as useful as a $6M TE by itself.

Hell no to this trade  Brian Cook!!?? Only pull the trigger if Luke Walton or Turiaf is involved with Smush and some random throw-in. I would need some convincing with Chris Mihm. This is not 2001 Aaron McKie we talkin bout either. Brian Cook is Juwan Howard + range - rebounds.

    HDUB,
Hey, we got it. Your opinion is heard. Now stop tramping on my fervent hope that this deal gets done. Any deal that gets rid of JHo is worth it.

    LakerPride,
Thanks for the update, I was wondering what was coming out this thing.

Take this with a grain of salt as usual, but ********** said that Juwan and Luther would be on their way out and we'd get back Cook and either Devean George or Aaron McKie and Sasha Vujacic.

Rookie. How many of Starburies teams have won games? Why do all of his teams want to trade him? Do you thing JVG would put up with this moron when he wouldn't put up with Franchise? Rookie

    Coming out of this thing?
Some respect, some attention and a bunch of nothing.

Whether this is true or not, Lakerpride thrives off of attention. He/she answers a bunch of posts and turns the comments about the trade into comments about him/herself, then replies about me, me, me. Read the replies. LP loves attention. He/she says something about the 'trade', then repeats him/herself, then starts talking about respect and him/herself. I bet he/she's not from the Valley. I'm also betting this is a girl or a queen-type.

Cook could be had for a 2nd rounder. And no one outside of their big three salaries works, money wise. This deal never even happened.

Starbury is never a third option to anyone which is why he is traded from teams like the ROX who have "main" guys and why he "flourishes" in NY where he is the main guy.

Some of you dudes just don't know when to stop. The sanctimonious internet personas that are bashing LakersPride need to chill out. This is like the Whole Foods/Dream thing and it's exactly what makes our board kick butt.My feeling is that he is just passing on what he's heard minus any agenda which is more than I can say for most of you.
LP,trust me, the egos that run wild here know not what they do...and can't get out of their own way.Keep on giving us the goods as most of us are kicking back waiting for more.
Some combination out of Kwame,Cook,George, and Walton is what I'd like to see.
    For the record,I BELIEVE YOU.
    and,thanks

To further confirm this rumor, the Rocket Guy on Woops World has discredited this rumor. That leads me to believe that its only a matter of time.

Right on the head. I despise point guards like Starbury. He is horrible for a team that actually wants to win. He is selfish and stat-hungry. He is not the kind of player that makes others around him better. I'll take Rafer over Starbury any day! Between Starbury and Francis I'll take SF, at least he has some heart.

Thanks for sticking your neck out. Most of us appreciate info because we have nothing else to do but read dumb trade ideas that make no sense to either team people post hourly. We see way more rediculous rumors from our own posters than we ever get from the outside and they get flamed way worse than you are getting here. I have contacts in a few organizations and I never post anything I hear for the very reason you don't want to post here again. A few of the guys from my time are scouts now so I hear some real whoppers that come out. Nobody believes what you say has merrit until it happens and 19 out of 20 trade rumors never come true. Every player on every club is discussed in trade multiple times each year and most of the talks never come out to becoming a trade. You are only telling us what your boy is telling you and I understand how that works. Just because this trade doesn't pan out, doesn't make your source any less credible by me. It just means the two sides talked, tried to make it work, and couldn't. Happens every day.

LakersPride, I personally don't believe this rumor at all. However, you seem like you're just passing along information that you've heard without any "prankster" intent. I'm willing to wait and see.

I don't really understand why some people are hell-bent on giving you a hard time. Judging purely from the way some of these idiots type, they're either kids or uneducated yokels.

Don't take what they say personally or feel obligated to defend yourself. Time will confirm/deny this rumor (and ultimately cement your reputation as well ;) )

EDIT: Ok, now that I've re-read the thread, only ONE person really "disrespected" you. Fine...that guy's an idiot. Everyone else just expressed some doubts. You can't expect people to automatically jump on board when you post an unsubstantiated claim.

I am not trying to bash the guy. But his reports coincide with information from here and Hoopsworld. The trade information he reports is almost identical and always comes after the report. Clutch reported he emailed LP and no response and he is giving wrong information. For example He reported that Mihm's knee was bad but it is torn ligaments in Mihm's ankle that are delaying his return. This is straight from Mihm in a Radio interview yesterday. SO IMO he is just repeating info he hears from other boards and here and he isn't even doing that accurately. Maybe he is telling the truth and I will be the first to apologize. But iuntil then I vote for this thread to be locked.

Just an FYI... if you want to be taken seriously, posts like this one do nothing to bolster that. Either defend your posts, or sit back and let us all see what happens, giving us info, if there is any to give, as it comes to you. Should this play out, you will get the respect you seem to crave.
