How about a four team trade.
    Houston In: Butler, Boozer, Dunleavy
    Houston out: Asik, Covington

    Bulls in: Gasol, Eric Gordon
Bulls out: Boozer, Butler, Dunleavy, Bulls first

    Lakers In: Covington, bulls first
    Lakers out: Gasol, lakers first

    NO in: Asik, Lakers first
    NO Out: Eric gordon

No Rox need to complete Asik trade first.

It improves the trade feasibility. It's a bag you stuff your goodies inside. Without it there is no possible salary match except Parsons/Harden/Howard.

I'm not holding my breath either but it does have Love implications.

Gibson would be a nice consolation prize.

Say what you want about Boozer, but he can shoot the 12-15 footer all day long. That keeps the lane open for Howard and Harden. He would also be good in pick and pop plays. He then turns into a large asset at the deadline or next summer when he comes off the books. If helping Chicago do this deal Morey can get also Dunleavy and a pick or smthn I think that is good. After that we may still have space for another move or two. Adding depth to the roster. And still match for Parsons. We shall see...

usually I dont have a problem with understanding concepts, but this one I do. Can someone give me the dumb down version of preserving the cap space?

Wait what? The only asset we get for eating Boozer's 16 million is Dunleavy?

It doesnt matter if he's overpaid...you dont throw away an asset like parsons. You especially dont let him go to division rival who with him actually might be a better team than yours. The match is coming.

Of course it won't. But it can help. We can't just sign him if we take on any contract that is longer than 1 year (and probably not even if we don't). When we trade or him, we need enough salary going out. Our main pieces would be picks, young talented players and overseas players. You can't get matching salaries with that. Only option would be to include PArsons, if they'd even want him.

Plus Minnesota will probably want to unload contracts, since they'd be in for another rebuild. Boozer helps with all this.

Of course Boozer can`t be the centerpiece, but he could help a lot with making the numbers work!

He's going to the Mavs, not the Spurs.
