Does this mean ClutchCity.net will be back up and running again soon?

I can't believe with everything you guys have done for that organization. Not only getting fans involved with saving our Rockets and everything else, but also bending over backwards to be accommodating to them. And this is the thanks you get.

It's funny that they couldn't even tell you weeks or months in advance about their intentions to not allow you media access, rather they want to spring it on you so you don't have ample time to respond.

ClutchFans.net is banned ... is ClutchCity.net blocked from training camp?

I just read the whole thread.

To answer your question, no. SportsRadio 610 has no problem whatsoever with cc.net being represented at Media Day.

Nor would the Animal or any TV outlets. I see the Rockets logic but they are wrong, IMHO. The reason to be upset is not that cc.net doesn't have access to media day. The upsetting thing is the stance that the Rockets Organization took against this website. Holistically. They view cc.net as a revenue competitor. I think it's a stupid move but and am therefore not suprised.

Some of the posters wanted to know if they could call in and talk about it. What do you think Chance?

I think everyone here agrees with you Chance. Revenue competitor? Good lord, so they're trying to force everyone to go with the inferior product (rockets.crap). I wonder how much money they could possibly lose by letting Clutch in for media day. It's hard to believe they would even feel the loss...I guess every penny counts.
If they just put up a good site instead of the once a month updated POS they have right now we wouldn't even have this thread.

    My letter:

Last year there was one thing that really got me excited about the Rockets and their upcoming season. It wasn't the press conference to announce Tracy McGrady and Reece Gaines. It wasn't Juwan Howard's press conference either. It was the daily coverage of the Rockets in training camp provided on ClutchFans.net.

ClutchFans.net offered the most insightful look into the players as they prepared for the pre-season and season to get underway. The articles made me feel like I was on the bench sitting with the newly acquired Tracy McGrady, full of optimism and ready to see where the potential could take the upcoming season. I felt like I was part of something. Something big?

Now I feel more like Vernon Maxwell on the '95 playoff run, cast aside. There will be no excitement preparing me for the season ahead. In fact I don't feel like you want me on board at all. Why? Because you've blocked ClutchFans.net from participating in any training camp and media coverage. The one source I could rely on to actually cover the Rockets training camp while the Astros were making waves in the playoffs and the Texans were disappointing Reliant Stadium with a lackluster effort ... and you've silenced that voice. Where will I go now for my information on how the Rockets players and coaches are gelling as a unit? Where will I find information about who's gained a spring in his step and who's lost a step? Where will I turn for feel-good stories about the team chemistry? Eh, if the Rockets organization doesn't think that stuff is newsworthy, perhaps I'll spend more of my time - and my entertainment dollar - on the Astros. And the Texans. I don't seem to have any trouble accessing information about their seasons. And offseasons.

    Thanks,
    Toast

I think we should all make an effort to no longer post articles here from Rockets.com (like the JVG Q&A). I'm sure that alone would cut their traffic in half.

Here was my email. feel free to copy and paste if you want to send an email but don't feel like writing one up.

    Dear Rockets,

I don't understand how Cluchfans.net can be barred from media day while other (smaller sites) were allowed access. After all the owner/operators of the site have done (remember SaveOurRockets.com?) they should be welcomed.

ClutchFans.net has thousands of members who are very upset over the matter and are planning to contact:

-NBC News and NBC's Trouble Shooters
    -CBS News
    -ABC News
    -Fox26 KRIV
-Jonathan Feigan at the Houston Chronicle

All phone numbers and email address's of the above have been shared by the thousands of members of the site. Many of them are claiming to have already heard back from those media outlets.

Here is a link to the web page on ClutchFans.net where this matter is being discussed. You can see for yourself how the fans have reacted. (insert link to this thread)

If the Rockets care more about their fans than hits on the web they will allow ClutchFans.net access to Media Day and Training Camp.

    Sincerely,
    Loyal Fan

Here is mine, I just sent it to the Rockets
    -------------

My name is TH and I've been a Rockets fan all of my life. I've also been a loyal season ticket holder for the past 4 seasons, but that will be changing after the news I heard today. I was informed that the Rockets fan site, Clutchfans.net, has been banned from Media Day access. The worst part of this is that other fan sites that are far inferior are still being allowed in. The reason given is that the Rockets are afraid of competition from clutchfans. That is just an absolute joke and a pathetic reason.

I believe Tim McDougall was your predecessor, and he actually had an account and interacted with us at Clutchfans. This was a very smart move, as it provided him a direct channel to the most diehard and loyal Rockets fans there are. By shutting out Clutchfans you are shutting out over 16,000 fans. I, along with thousands others will be notifying all local radio, print, and telivision media outlets to inform them of this blatant attempt to shut out the fans. How soon you forget that those involved with running Clutchfans also started SaveOurRockets.com, which is a HUGE reason that the Toyota Center even exists today. Please do the right thing here and allow Clutchfans.net media access, as they have been allowed to have for many years previously.

    TH
    Rockets fan since 1979
