I say keep up the pressure. Les has a habit of caving in when fans put the pressure on - like when he tried to fire Calvin Murphy and Turbo. Even the clown costume uniforms only lasted a few years.

Dude, I wouldnt go as far to boycott the Rockets.
Im sure the players love the fans this is just a poor business desicion in hopes to pump up their website that is ruled under an iron fist and will NEVER, EVER begin to compete with Clutchfans.

    Dr.oxford KILLED IT!!!

BTW, Rich is soo intimidated by "amateur jornalism", but you know he'd love to break or even repeat the stories that clutchfans gets a hold of first.

I get off work tomorrow at 7:16pm in Sugarland. I'm planning on attending the 610 sportsradio thing at hOOters. I'm willing to wear any clutchfans.net gear if available. Anything gear out there I can buy?

    that was great drox.

but someone needs to make it clear to rich that whether web-based fan sites should be allowed to cover camp or not is not the issue right now, it's that clutchfans and clutchfans only is being denied access to training camp.

What did drox say? Anyone want to give a recap.

Rich isn't intimidated by website journalism. He is just old skool. Honestly, I know him and he's a good guy.

Keep in mind that there are LOTS of webistes that dissemenate incorrect and blatantly false information for the benefit of money. So, the idea that website news shouldn't be trusted isn't exactly crazy.

But, ClutchFans is unique and I think it is important to understand that when having that discussion.

That's what I'm going to do. I go to Houston for all the major holidays, and I try to go to games when I do. Not this season, unless they reverse this. I'll watch them on League Pass in Austin, like I always do, and on the tube when we're in Houston. And no caps and jerseys... not this season. I'll wear the old ones.

Drox, great that you got on!
    edit: You're tha man!!! DUDE!

Remember what D.o.D did in the Summer League early in the off-season that kept many of us going? I still just don't understand, like Clutch said, how letting the crew here at CF.net do something even as simple as that is so hard to allow. whatever.

These are some things that irk me the most about this situation:

    1) This site DOES get breaking news. We usually find out news well before any local or national media outlet reports it. Hell, we knew at least 24 hrs. ahead of time that the TMac trade was going to become official. And, let's be honest, we all know there are some "sports reporters" on that channel that use this site as a news source.

    2) This site DOES fully support the franchise even to the point of being a big part of keeping said franchise from relocating by drumming up enough support for a new arena.

    3) Employees of the organization, past and present, post on this board to promote events to encourage a good turn out and excitement.

So, why is it not a two-way street?

The franchise can use the site to get fan support and, ultimately more revenue, yet won't "scratch Clutch's back".

All we ever hear from every sports franchise is "it's all about the fans" and the fans are, in essence, the franchises' consumers. So, it's a sad day when the franchise, that we all die-hard support, squats and takes a dump on our heads.

droxford did a great job but I feel like they smacked down pretty hard at the end with the "amateur journalism" comment and didn't allow a retaliation by him..kinda sucks.

I gotta go.... man... I'm still shaking from that call.

What I wanted to tell them was that ClutchFans can't be professional journalists. The moment this bbs starts taking money for things, the rules totally change for us!!!

I really wanted to tell them that, but they cut me off.
