(UPDATE: Rockets change stance) Rockets block ClutchFans from training camp

They just asked me what I want to talk about. I told 'em I wanted to talk about Houston sports management and how they deal with the fans.

 

You guys should wait till Matt Jackson gets on he'll give more pub to us.

 

Ill call back during the Dom Capers hour and ask him if he think his organization would ever do some stuff like that to a fan base such as ourselves.

Dude. Dom Capers show comes on in 15 mins. If you don't make it on before the show, I say just hang up and try during the night shift.

 

Help me understand what Rockets.com worries about? Clutchfans gets traffic and they dont? Either way, isnt that good for the Rockets anyways? Besides if trainning camp is open to the media, who's to decide which media to be blocked. The whole thing doenst add up.

They've already lost money from me. I was looking to buy some single game tickets for the family and I, along with some for my nephew and his wife, for when we're in Houston and they're playing a game. I've been planning to buy a bunch of caps and jerseys when we went. I'm not doing either, now, and I'm sure as hell not going to their site, unless they reverse this idiotic, ungrateful, dumb-ass crap that they've pulled. That probably a few hundred dollars, easy, that they aren't getting. I'll get League Pass again, like I have the last few years, but any money the Rockets get from that will be indirect and piddlin' compared to what I was planning on spending. I know a bunch of members sound like they are blowing off season tickets, which is one hell of a lot more than I was planning on spending.

How can they be so stupid??

 

When you call into the Dom Capers show, just tell them you want to ask the coach why the Oline is so ****y and then ask him what he thinks about CF.net. I just want to hear Dom say "WTF?".

Banning clutchfans.net from media and training events is a bad idea.
Clutchfans is a fan site run by fans - we the members - are being
disrespected by the Rockets organization by their actions in this matter.

Clutchfans.net complements the Rockets organization rather than detracting
from it - and that includes rockets.com. A case could easily be made that
clutchfans.net is a gateway to Rockets.com.

It was in my case when I moved to Houston - I might be reading something at
clutchfans.net and then say bounce over to rox.com to check a player stat or
the schedule - so the content here cause me to hit rox.com. But Rockets.com
is a bad site - anyway you slice - in fact - it's almost a textbook example
of how not to build a site - and further - how not to maintain one.

That clutchfans.com is a good site that is easy to navigate, informative and
up-to-date is attributable to Clutch, Crew and members. That rockets.com is
a bad site that is hard to navigate, not informative and not up-to-date - is
NOT attributable to clutchfans.net. In fact Clutch and Crew could probably
help make it better if given the opportunity.

As far as rockets.com goes - if the people responsible for rockets.com are
blaming clutchfans.net for poor viewer numbers - they need to look in the
mirror - not point fingers.

To the rockets - please reconsider - when you disrespect this site you
disrespect the fans that use this site. I go to plenty of games with my
wife, friends and out of town guests. I'm the fanatic - I'm the one
convincing people to go and that's what all of us are here - we're fanatics
- we get other people interested - at no cost to the organization!!! I'm
not a season ticket holder - I might be one day -but then again - I might
not.

Banning clutchfans.net from media and training events will not make it any
easier for the account managers in the ticket office such as [name of my act mgr withheld] to
sell me tickets - I can assure you of that.

Don't forget - fans are clients and every successful sales manager knows
that clients are a lot more easily lost than they are gotten.

Please Rockets - reconsider. We all make mistakes - one thing that
differentiates winners from losers is that winners admit mistakes and take
corrective action promptly.
