I think you are misunderstanding what I'm trying to say. What I mean is it only takes one party, one side to percieve the other as a potential threat in order to start a competition. In their eyes cc.net is a threat, so in thier eyes they are competing cc.net even though cc.net doesn't compete with anyone. In psychology you learn that to any one person thier "perception" of reality is actually thier reality because they believe it to be real, even if we do not see it as reality. That being said, it is lame for a sports franchise to be afraid of a potential threat.

    You feel'n me now?

I've lost a ton of respect for that franchise, as far as the people running it.

Basically echoed what Clutch and the other fellahs been saying about how Clutchfans has always been supporting the Rockets. They were pretty courteous to me, I think they were surprised I was calling all the way from NYC. My main point was that Clutchfans is an important part of the Rockets fan community, and thus shouldnt get shut out just because they wanna promote their own rockets.com website

It's my guess that they want to do what the Texans have done with their website. On Houstontexans.com, you have to access the message boards from the main website and hence, it's not an independent board like ClutchFans. Therein lies what I think is the main issue: control. Being an independent BBS, they (Rockets) can't exert control over ClutchFans whereas, they can easily control (read censor) a message board run from within their website.

I am in total agreement that this is a sorry-ass slap in the face to Clutch after all he's done. This board is a lifeline for us ex-patriate Hosutonians who still follow the Houston pro sports teams. I, too, have shot off my protest emails to the Rockets organization on this matter.

Sorry I guess I misinterpreted that. Instant gratification is a concept too broad to be dismissed though. No offense intended. :)

Say you want to talk about Houston sports franchises, and their relationship with the public.
Hell, wing it! And good luck! ;)

If this is a decision by marketing then I am not suprized since Tim the number one person in marketing and Audrey the number two person in marketing both are no longer with the Rockets. I believe the new marketing team is trying to go towards a new direction. What direction that is exactly I still have no clue.

As a former Houstonian living in New Zealand, ClutchFans has been a lifeline for me not only for the Rockets but also for keeping me up to date with what's going on in Texas. I can't thank Clutch, Jeff, and the moderators and contributors to this site enough. I think it is a gross injustice that Clutch has been denied press access. What does the press do? Break stories, report news and analyse events. ClutchFans has done a better job at doing these things with the Rockets than any media outlet. Flat out. Beyond that, I think the Rockets management owe this site for the years of support in keeping them in Houston. I hope the Rockets reconsider this move. Thanks for your efforts, Clutch. We support you.

That's what this board is all about. To throw out your opinion and have it slapped around and spit on, and have a chance to deffend or clearify. No offense taken.
