He sounds like he's been recently hit in the head with a metal bat. (In other words, yes) I've never heard him speak before, but unless he's high right now (been hanging out with E.G.) then I'd have to conclude he is NOT a smart guy!

(I know we're getting off topic here but...)

At least he was smart enough to not say anything about who should start the 4 this year. He said all the right things, he just said them like he is mentally r****ded. :D

I've always been very understanding with business decisions, especially since I help run one myself. HOwever, the one thing I NEVER do is to bite the hand that feeds me. The Rockets saw an opportunity. They know that they got fans hyped up to an nth degree with this off-season. As a result, they see it as a way to raise their revenues to another level because everyone will be dying for news. They ALSO know that Clutchfans.net (always cc.net imo) is the leading fanbase with the articles that fans WANT to read. We ARE the fanbase in releasing stories from a fan's perspective. People come here because we keep up with the news and stories like none other. Therefore, they have a problem with that.

I was actually looking at season tickets for the company then I ventured on this situation. It is quite sad. I doubt they will miss my 2-4 sets of season tickets that much, but it's still a stupid decision. They got the fanbase in Houston and Rockets Fans Worldwide excited about this upcoming season, and they blow it for a stunt like this? These are people who spent time in their lives to promote and IMPROVE your product. WE are people who spent hours to days to years of our lives attending games and listening to the radio to follow play by plays. We followed the team and attended games even during those bad years. I doubt many fairweathered fans would cheer on top of their lungs during those years where the Rockets were the isolation playing laughing stock of the NBA. We are the fanbase that attended games for the right reasons, not for your promotional figurines or T-shirts or to get my hands on an autograph. We love the Rockets because they represent US, as a city. We're excited because we feel that we WERE a part of an organization that wants to win and make Houston a place for basketball.

Instead of allowing Clutchfans.net to flourish along with the Rockets, this happens. What kind of positive things could possibly come out of this PR move? I followed the Rockets enough to the thought of purchasing Cable TV next month just to have access to watch Rockets games at home. We set up viewing parties and bought group tickets to watch the Rockets together. We supported the team from Moses and Murphy to Olajuwon and Drexler to Francis and Mobley to Yao and McGrady. WE buy the tickets and cheer the Rockets on when they're excelling and struggling. We cheer the Rockets through Rockets Championships to lottery teams to 40 pt losses in game 7s. We support JVG through his support and his $100,000 fine. We were ready to write checks to help pay for that fine. It was always US vs the Rest of the NBA and the world. Now, the Rockets turned on clutchfans.net as well. I really hope that this decision is reversed, because as excited as I was about this season, this pretty much deflated it.

What is really annoying is that the Rox probably didn't even know their site was pathetic until a few thousand of us bashed it here. And this bbs site is in no way direct competition with it because they must protect their product at all costs - even to the point of irrelevance or complete banality.

All of here are like Rox family members who can bash, tear-up and psyco-analyze anyone we want because we love them. Feigen and Berman can't do that.

610 & 740 do have interviews that give us the lighter side of guys but they rarely break news that hasn't been sniffed out here.

We deduce, speculate and occasionally jump to left field (i.e. the T-Mac thread 2 years ago during Orlando's 19 game losing streak) but there are seeds of reason here you won't get anywhere else.

Perhaps David Barron (Chron. TV-Radio columnist: david.barron@chron.com) is the one to contact. In today's edition he complained his various mobile technology didn't work so well in the Alamodome. Big surprise, the guy writes a media column that says TV-Radio. What year is this, 1950?

This is a media story, and this site is usually more relevant that what Feigen prints about the Rox. And he promotes every network/station imaginable which are not exactly non-profit entities and that broadcast sports that compete for Les' money.

As stated, what Clutch (and us) do here is put money in Les' pocket. If anything rockets.com should be promoting this site.

I think they're gonna f*** us just like the Rockets decision makers have so far, and just ignore the problem.

If they do so then we can still call in maybe tomorrow when they think things have calmed down and then bring up the issue live on air and put their asses on the spot to answer the question too. I dont think that would be a smart move by them

Let me try to get some perspective on this. The Rockets are a sports franchise, and as such they are also a business. Sport in the very essance of the word means to compete. Business in a capitalistic environment also incorperates competition. So the reason cc.net is denied access to media day and training camp is because the Rockets franchise is afraid of competition? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I doubt it. This issue should be important to 610AM to mention, unless Rockets have some pull on the situation and take away interviews. My reasonins in this is because there is competition in the airwaves now in sports radio talk I'm sure at least one station will be more than happy to discuss our dilemma with the Rockets Organization's approach to this situation.

they're sitting in the middle of rocketvilla right now, it's very possible someone
associated with the rockets slipped them a note asking them to not talk about this at the moment.
