Update: Rafer Alston out a week (part of playoffs)

you guys are being harsh on brooks. i'm more worried on bobby. his stamina isn't that great, i don't think i remember him playing more than 1 Q straight.

these games are gonna be GREAT experience for brooks. even alot better than it would have been. i'm actually exicited to see how brooks does.

 

Oh wow, I'm going to choose to ignore this and hope you never bring it up. Brooks CAN shoot. Very well, quite actually.

B Jax has also been shooting well as of late. Let's hope he keeps it up.

Nothing wrong with Brooks and Bobby. But as much as Rafer has been bashed he was a huge part of that 22 game win streak, and without him lately, our team hasn't looked in proper form.

I hope he's alright.

And it allows the team to switch the intitiator....when teams double TMac across the half court line give it to Brooks/BJax and switch roles....Brooks/BJax at PG and Tmac at SG.

More flexibility, better shooting, harder to guard.

Hope Bobby Jackson can bring the defensive intensity Rafer brings. Rafer is(should be) All-NBA defensive talent. We don't lose anything offensively.

 

That rafer was a mirage. He sold his soul the devil for that time.

 

No, Bobby Jackson is the best point guard on the team. He can score and that is what we need someone to do more of than pass the ball.

I think AB could throw them off their game a bit. I would much rather Deron Williams post up AB and we bring help as opposed to trying defend that pick and roll all game long.
If Adleman tells Brooks to just go out and penetrate and lets him shoot it could be just the spark this team needs.

 

Just remember the Rox have a history of backup rookie point guards stepping it up big in the playoffs:

We need one who can pass and score, Bjax is a good scorer and a decent passer.....not optimal, but good enough.

I hope AB and BJ play so well that we do not have to play Rafer at all in the first round.

 

Imagine if we did'nt traded Bonzi for Bjax. Mike James would have been our starting PG in the playoffs!!!

 

THis is actually not a bad time for Rafer to get hurt, it could have been a lot worse if it happened 2 weeks ago. We have some time off where he can relax and recover, maybe he will miss one important game.

 

Utah ain't stupid enough to try posting up DWill on ABrooks. I wished they were. Battier/Hayes help too much. Posting up DWill would take away Utah's offensive spacing and clog up the paint on Boozer. Won't happen.

 

I think there were 2-3 times the past game where DWill posted up AB. Adelman took AB out after that.

 

I was just gonna say the same thing.

Honestly, I'm no Rafer lover, but this is bad news. Jackson is a scorer not really a PG and Brooks is awfully green. Maybe Brooks will step up, but he will either face Nash, Parker, or Williams...and that is a TALL order.

I'd much rather see TMac isolated at the elbow where he is most effective than running the point.

And God knows how crappy Head is at handling the ball.

 

You would thought he would gotten at least 75+ games for it...
