[update] Poker Room

I feel this needs to be reposted.

 

I go to AC a couple of times a month, usually to the Borgata or Showboat. Their $2/5 game is minimum $100 max $500, so it isn't a stretch to have a minimum of $100 in a $5/5 game. Now is it r****ded to buyin for $100 in a $2/5 game? Sure, but that's their own problem, not the Poker room's.

As for who plays $5/5? That is quite an ignorant question. Most of these type of home game poker room's have a $5/5 option. It is for people who want to play slightly bigger than $2/5 but not quite $5/10. And you won't have to deal with dollar chips. As a matter of fact they even run a $5/5 game every weekend at the Showboat nowadays. So it is definitely legit. However the buyin at Showboat is $300-$1000, which is nice as it gets rid of all the "hit and run"ers who buyin for $100 just looking to go allin. I have no idea where you are getting that this eliminates all strategy.

I seriously doubt this guy even has a poker room, and if he does, it's just going to be another slumhole with uncapped rakes, shady/ignorant dealers, props and all kinds of other douchebag tactics of ripping off his players.

 

this is false. I have been to at least 5 different poker rooms in houston and several in daytona beach and none of them had 5/5 no limit hold em.

perhaps there are rooms that have it....but as you said, it's an option.

this dolt is using it as the platform for his room.

 

In addition to what LL said, he has a history of reporting his "problems" to the BBS asking for help and advice. All of them have been ridiculous stories that only paint him in a "look at me suffer, I'm a victim" point of view. Basically, he's the kid in class who causes trouble to get attention.

 

Fair enough. My point was just that 5/5, or any other small=big blind game is not uncommon, where the other poster made it seem like it was a broken game.

 

Explain what 5/5 is.

 

Small and big blinds are 5 each.
