He said Yao won't be fine until a year from now, but that's OK, i think this team, even with a limited Yao is good enough to slide into the playoffs, as long as the big fella rounds into form by February of next year.

hope you can clarify what you mean 90% HEALTHY. do you mean his foot is about 90% healed? or he is 90% in playing shape?

you have a lot of assumptions about that yao may not play or yao doesn't stay healthy. to me, your assumption is no difference from those assumption made by ppl that he will be 100% healthy.

you have to gamble in yao's case, like morey said bcoz there is no way to get a player of yao's caliber. of coz, gamble is not blind. if you trust morey, you have to believe morey calculated his bet very carefully. he has all inside track for him to say yao will definitely be 100% in shape when the next playoff starts. back to when he had the surgery, doctor predicted he will be back to the court when the next season starts. it means doctor expected yao will be 100% healthy or in other way to say this, yao will get the green light to be on the court. so far, he is on the track to recover. no setback has been reported. are you going to trust doctors?

nothing can be granted. it's life. you can have a brand new car but next day your car is broken. but ppl still trust new car more than an old car.

This is like Deja Vu all over again...

I like Yao, good guy... But right now he has the team and les in a bad situation... Like Walton had Portland...

I'm pretty sure he will still be playable. Probably just means soreness will occur when playing but it will strengthen it.

In my opinion, Yao will need 2 years to regain form

That's my belief. I want the big buy to be ready by the start of next season but I think I'm asking too much from him. I hope he's healthy enough to play next season but don't expect a dominate Yao.

Hopefully, we continue to keep our awesome core and get better role players and even upgrade some role players to stars.

    Get healthy Yao!

Thanks, doctor. Very informative. Glad you decided to share that belief.

If I'm waiting another 2 years on Yao it better be while he's playing for the Shanghai Sharks.

It's funny how people don't do the research into Yao's injury. Yao's a hard worker, give him 3 months in the post season and he's there. Even is injury isn't understood by most. He had his arch repaired on his left foot to better balance and absorb shock that would prevent fractures in his lower shin. It's not a normal surgery but one that cuts the head of the snake that will make him complete most seasons from games 1 - 82 + post season with no problem. If you can understand that you will understand that we have our guy back next season in full form.

After rehab, Big Z played with pain for one whole year.

But no worry, Yao has a history of playing through pain. He's not Tpain in that department.

This morning on 1560, Morey said next season Yao would be limited to begin with but by playoff time he would be 100%. This is his reasoning for getting a starting caliber big to play alongside or backup Yao with the MLE or trade.

I can see Yao putting up 15 and 9 next season and getting to 18 and 11 by 2011-12. If we don't get Bosh we NEED to pickup an insurance policy in the worst way.

    e

So when did Yao have the surgery................... (Ap 2009) ?

and when does the next season start...................

When do the next playoffs start........................(Ap 2011)

Then how much time will have gone by............................ (Circa 2 years)

    How does that compare.............................? :p

I certainly hope its quicker than 2 years! That's his prime right there and then the decline sets in.
