i like the god of war series but don't have any interest in those other 3. i'll get a ps3 eventually but it doesn't chnge my opinion that it'd mostly just be for the blu-ray player.
just picked this up at lunch today along with the original street figther movie on blu-ray (RIP Raul Julia)
Saw it at frys on the TV they have sitting there in the gaming department. Game looks good. The joysticks they have for it were horrible though. Square and notchy. No circular motion at all. I plan on getting this game soon but not at the moment. anyone have experience with an x-arcade on the PS3? I read reviews about lagging and some people say that the older x-arcades had those issues and not the newer ones. I've only used it on PC playing mame and I have no problems performing combos and no lag issues but I don't have any experience with it on the PS3.
lag is not a controller issue that's an internet issue. there must be something wrong if you have a wired controller that lags
Anyone know if any of the Wal-Marts in the Sugar Land area have the PS3 collector's edition in stock? Also, is the madcatz arcade stick limited? My friend just called and told me this. I would have bought it right away had I known. Unless it's not limited, in that case I'm good.
Their $79 stick is not limited... in the respect that they plan to produce more of them. However, they are having major supply issues right now. It sounds like they are sold out right now unless you preordered it... and in some cases even then Amazon/Gamestop don't have or haven't shipped them due to supply demand and taking too many preorders. There was a $149 dollar "Tournament Edition" of the stick that was limited. Basically it was all professional parts (same parts as the arcade cabinent of the game). I saw a rumor that Madcatz may sell a few more of these after the initial release, but there's no evidence to it that I've seen. You can pick them up at a 75-100 percent markup on eBay. For preorders, they weren't shipped on time either... was supposed to be out yesterday, still waiting for word from Gamestop that they've got it in. What I've read is that they were only planning to run 3000 of these, ended up getting 18000 preorders before they cut them off. Basically, the expected demand for both sticks was WAY underestimated... looks like the same goes for the FightPads, though I have not followed them as much.
I played with Ken and got up to Sagat and got so pissed off I had to cut the game off. He just spams those tiger fireballs and if you get close tiger knee.
...and you're forgetting: Valkyria Chronicles (SRPG, best game I've played in 5 years) Disgaea 3 (SRPG) Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (Platformer)
Same here. I'm very surprised at how much I'm enjoying the game. I have always liked Street Fighter games in the past, but I was playing HD Remix recently and I didn't enjoy that much. Glad to see that was an anomaly. Now there is Blaz Blue and any new Darkstalkers to look forward to. King of Fighters 12 too! I bought it on the PS3 for the Ryu figurine as opposed to the Crimson Viper figurine along with the preference for a Blu-Ray for once. However, I'm thinking about trading the game in for the 360 version and getting a MadCatz FightPad for obvious reasons such as more friends etc. We will see...
I could never get into SF3. Or really anything that game out after SFA2. The whole fighter single player scenario thing just seems boring to me now. Y'all think an old vet like me can get back into the groove? I dunno... How are those new gimmicks?
Fry's is supposed to have a bunch of standard edition sticks available, but be warned. There are a lot of people having major issues with these sticks. They stick to one side or just stop recognizing a direction. Something to do with the washer scratching up the PCB inside the stick. You can read about it more here. http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=176026
Even if the standard edition is working perfectly be even more forewarned that the joystick box on this is square/rectangular and not round like the arcades so doing circular motions is a bit difficult. I'd highly advise against them. While I was able to do some of the moves it just feels horrible.
Actually, I believe that even the TE stick comes with a square gate. Some people seem to like them better. It just depends on preference I guess.
It definitely wasn't the square gate that I played with at frys yesterday. it was the primarily white joystick not the primarily red 150 dollar one. If the TE one comes with a square gate then that sucks to. I'd find that hard to believe though since it's supposed to use the same parts as the arcade using Sanwa parts right? Though i guess it can use the same parts but not the same configuration? Square gate would be good for some other games but particular for SF? I think a huge majority would prefer the round gate. I can't imagine doing a Zangief 360 with a square gate consistently.
the PS3 version loads slower. other than that, its the same game as the xbox. I think the 99ers would do just fine. It was actually very easy to get use to newer stuff like the focus attack, EX attacks, and throwing with 2 buttons(jab/short)
