Does anyone have the TE stick for this game? I've been wanting one and I know they are backordered to hell but I've been learning how to play Abel with the gamepad that I'm not sure how that would translate to using the joystick. Having one button throws and one button 3xkick or 3xpunch is so nice though I'm sure that the TE sticks are programmable right? I just want to test this stick out so I can make a decision on whether or not I should keep drooling for one. There was a SFIV tournament at front rows this past sunday. Did anyone go? Also I've only played Leehom on PSN. We're pretty evenly matched for the most part. Any other PS3'ers out there want to go head to head? PSN id is the same as my forum name.
i bought this game a couple days ago and played it yesterday for the first time. I decided to play an online match and got pwned. This guy new every special move and combo. I literally never even moved and he killed me "perfect" twice in a row.
The MadCatz SF4 TE stick is definitely worth the $150. I have the Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 ($100) and it pales in comparison. The only issue with MadCatz is the questionable reliability, but other than that it is the best stick in the market bar none. Like cdastros mentioned earlier, the second batch of TE sticks will be released in April. I'll probably buy one because it's that good. Arcade perfect, unlike the HRAP3 which feels like a loose vagina. Don't get me wrong, the HRAP3 is good compared to everything else that was in the market prior to the MC TE, but the TE is just that much better and has raised the bar.
MY GOD. Is this "disconnect like a sissy" day or something? I always played unranked matches, because honestly, I'm a casual player, and hate when people disconnect when they lose 1 freakin' match. It worked well last night: ran into a guy I was really evenly matched with, and we pretty much traded wins. 9 wins for him, 10 for me... and we were both making an effort to pick a variety of characters. Great, great fun. It was what a fighting game online should be like. But today... even in UNRANKED, I swear to god just now I had 5 fights in a row, all with different people, where I won the first match and then they disconnected. Some of them were really close, too! What's the point of doing that? Are people so insecure that they can't handle losing 1 time in an unranked match? When I run into someone better than me, I'll pound away for 10 matches even if I don't win once. It's an opportunity to get better, for cryin' out loud!
How does the MadCatz sticks compare to the X-Arcade Sticks? I've being using the X-arcade sticks and thought they blew away the SCIV Hori sticks I had.
Same here, I'm not afraid of losing. But there are people out there who are a bunch of lil wussies. Sometimes I'll join a game, and I'll get kicked for no reason.
I have no experience with the X-Arcade. The HRAP3 is the first stick I've owned since the SNES ASCII Joystick. What's your handle? I won't disconnect till two matches at least.
I saw a couple pages back people were talking about Planet Zero. I've been there a lot with my brother, but not been as of late (I usually go with my brother and he's in Dallas now). Anyways, I'd love to top tier all of yall with Ken the next I go to PZ.
Any confirmation on the second batch of TE sticks? I can't even find the standard one anywhere. My cousin has the TE stick, and I can't believe how much easier it is to play vs a controller
It's all practice. I preordered a TE stick, but since they didn't actually end up shipping until like three weeks after the game I got used to the controller and don't really want to relearn all the muscle memory on the stick. Need to practice some more with it...
got myself the TE arcade stick for PS3 and I have to say I do not like it. The buttons are super sensitive and I don't like the square gate along with the shape of the joystick..
It's unfortunate that you didn't like the TE. It's the best joystick I've ever used. You could try to build your own joystick out of HAPP parts if you want the American arcade feel.
I think it's more of the sensitivity of the joystick. It used to take some skill to do an uppercut but now that sucker flies out with the slightest wiggle. Obviously it's taking some getting used to. It's crazy how you can do an uppercut now w/o even having to do the circular motion. I'm having more problems with fireballs than I am uppercuts. That's just not right. I do have to say the square gate is very nice for charge characters. They say not to ride the gate and that's nice and all but the gate for me is like the children's gutter lane blockers or a blind man's walking stick. It lets me know what position i'm at. I'm by no means a beginner street fighter but I guess I've been grooved into what I like so much that I'm not used to this japanese style stick. I guess I'll give it another couple days.
So it can be pirated? I've found myself playing SF4 again after finally buying a bluetooth headset for my phone and PS3
I lucked out and found a MadCatz Fightstick SE earlier today at GS. I think you might like this joystick better, the joystick + buttons have more firm/stiffer springs than the TE/HRAP3. If you live in the NW side, you can try mines out before you make a decision. This one is only $69 new and easily modable. *edit - Actually I'm going to return it. I checked the "do not remove" sticker and it was cut in half. Looks like someone returned this after opening it up...and GS sold it to me as "new" when it wasn't. When these sticks are in stock again, I'm definitely going to order another one and mod it. I like the SE stick more than the HRAP3, but it's still not as good as the TE imo.
