If I were the Warriors I would have left Oakland even if Oakland was willing to build a new arena.

Downtown San Francisco > any location in the Bay Area.

Oakland isn’t going to approve that 12 billion dollar ‘development’ at Howard terminal.
They got a bunch of problems to address, crime, housing, homeless people..

plus, their president has gone to Vegas and tweeting about Elon’s tunnel

Portland has water, people and tourism. Natural rival for the Mariners (already in-division)...and a super duper easy road trip for me when the Astros visit. #mlb2pdx

Do we need Arlington? Gimme Vegas and Portland. That would be ideal

Chris Paul said that the Athletics will now be known as the Arizas and can move wherever the want.

You're right that Vegas isn't going to give the A's the deal they gave the Raiders. That seems pretty clear. I read an article recently discussing that.

There is no plan by the A's or Vegas as to how this would be funded...or, more importantly, what part that Vegas would expect the A's to pay in a public/private partnership.

Vegas is providing tremendous leverage right now for the A's in their negotiations with Oakland.

The A’s president specifically met with the casinos on his trips. Maybe a joint venture ?

Oakland A's President Dave Kaval was among the group who made the trip to Las Vegas. He spent the past two days talking with local elected officials and hotel operators, including officials at Resorts World, the newest resort on the Las Vegas Strip, where he's staying.

    No Montreal?

Portland and Vegas would be the most attractive options for MLB to not need realignment. Rays would be a better bet to move to Charlotte or Nashville (though it is a crying shame they haven't been able to make baseball work in Central Florida).

Aren't there more Yankees fans in Tampa than Rays fans? And a ton of Red Sox fans not too far down in Fort Myers?

And they screwed up by building the stadium in St. Petersburg.

Vegas would make a nice trip for Astros fans... but still a lot of unknowns as to whether or not a MLB team will work long term there. New Orleans, with similar tourism reliance, is likely not going to be able to hang on to the Pelicans unless that team starts winning a lot and sellouts are assured.

There's a George Steinbrenner baseball complex in Tampa, not far from the Trop.

It’s pretty far from the Trop… and yes, that’s where the Yankees have had spring training there for almost 30 years.
