I heard the audio on 790 on the way home. Initially i was pissed, but the fact that he is 32 and wanting 4 or 5 years changed my thinking a bit. He's too old for that kind of contract and a trade kicker. I cant blame the guy for wanting job security though. So, instead of having Mike James, Rudy Gay and Stromile on our team, we have Battier... god, please let TMAC be 100% healthy all year! More offseason dissapointment from a houston sports team.
Why isn't Sportsradio 610, the "home of the Rockets", the ones breaking this story? Oh yea... Vandemeer and Rich are too busy playing with new sound effects, and are still stuck on news from the weekend, or Texans mini-camp. Screw Mike James, screw 610... and screw the Rockets unless T-Mac is healthy for the entire season.
Trading him after he stated publicly that he was after the money...which is understandable since he has never had a huge payday yet, but what if the Rockets would've gambled on him and now be without a PG (without Rafer). Ever since I heard that Minnesota was after him I honestly thought that would be the best fit for him, even though I wanted him here somewhat. He'll get the minutes just like in Toronto, and plenty of opportunity to showcase himself which he wants. This does prove one thing is true...Mike James is about himself, not the team or anything else. He had offers from the Heat, Mavs, and Rockets...all teams you could argue with a better shot at winning than Minnesota. His decision proves he is not a guy we really want on our team.
Mike James wants to be MVP ROLMMFAO x infinty. Have fun loser hopefully you can "lead" the Pups into the playoffs where MAC and MING promptly sweep yo azz out the door, bring on Trevor and Marcus, hopefully.
I guess it just wasn't meant to be. He said he wanted to be a big part of a team and he will certainly be that in minny, but just goes to prove why some players are hated. So much talk but don't back it up. Well we can just hope and be lucky that if we get marcus banks he can turn into what mike james would have been for us.
The Rocket's front office just keeps on rolling right into the gutter. This years Free Agents were not going to bring Larry Bird to your door step and then they go and lose the one decent player on the market. In any competition there's a loser and a winner and the Rockets just lost again expect more of the same next season.
Screw Mike James. He had a contract year on a crappy team. He doesn't deserve the full five years at his age.
Yeah, I agree. He sucks for that. I guess part of that BS was to try and force the Rockets to offer him more than they were willing. This really sucks right now, but hopefully a couple seasons from now we'll be laughing about this and be glad we didn't get him.
I'm actually quite pleased. We always b**** about our management giving out dumb contracts, and it doesn't make sense to give James 5 years and a trade kicker. That is stupid. I say move on.... I'm glad this is finally over with and very pleased that he didn't go to the Mavs. James going to MN doesn't hurt us. It actually may help us if we can get Banks.
I am waiting on those coming out of closet posting "I never wanted James" "James sucks" The truth is we lost a important piece to our puzzle, which I think even worse than that gay+stro for battier trade.
I wonder if this opens the door for V-Span? I sure do want to find out if this guy is the real deal or not...
Freeze your balls off alone in a cold bed with your ego you dimwit. And enjoy your new 7.85% state income tax.
You sound like a bitter ex-wife. It's called free agency. He wanted to come home but got offered a better deal from Minnesota. Props to him. You should always look out for your own interests first in the event you get traded - AGAIN. Rockets management is to blame for this one. Quite ironic that one extra year at reasonable money is such a big deal considering we just traded away our highest lottery pick in years and are supposedly trying to "win now."
