    It's Minnesota. Just announced.

Hate to have to cheer against these guys, but it's time. New least favorite team in the league.

The Rockets did the smart thing. Why give a 32 year old, 6-2 shooting guard 5 years and a trade kicker? That's just stupid business. CD would have done it based on his idiotic history, but thank God for Morey and JVG. Something like a trade-kicker can hold some things up. If a future deal were to come up and the other team wanted James, we wouldn't be able to trade him.

    Banks, Cato, and Ariza please.

Not sure why we weren't willing to give him the trade kicker?

James is saying he wanted a 5th year, the Rockets said no. They would only give 3 years. Then he said ok, I at least want a trade kicker so you won't trade me again, they said no. So he's going to Minnesota. I guess Minnesota offered him 4yrs.

I guess it was his way to screw over the Rockets.... Tell them you love them and want to come play in your hometown - then make them wait - then tell them to piss off. Looks like he got his jollies off on this one....

    Great.
I don't like this guy. What he did last year in Toronto is not acceptable in a champion team.
Now we can begin to look for a good young role player instead of a selfish old guy.

    We are going to suck.

Alston, Banks (maybe) Wesley (maybe) Bogans (maybe), god, even if Battier and Tmac are spotting in the backcourt, we our terrible back there.

Trade-kicker? What is that about. There are no no-trade clauses in the NBA. Screw Mike James and his 5th year BS, and damn management for not getting it done with him. He woulda been huge for us.

I'm just glad it wasn't Dallas. I'm tired of that crap about all the Free Agents wanting to come play in Dallas because of Cuban.

Trade kicker and or a 5th year may have not been enough to get him if the only reason why he would have come is for the fans. He didn't care about playing with T-Mac or Yao.If you don't care about your team players it's better off to go somewhere else.
The Rockets better have a good backup plan.

Why does everyone want Kelly Cato back so badly?

And who the hell are Aziza and Banks?

according to pallilo, the trade exception means if we trade james than we have to pay him like a million dollars or a certain percentage of contract......

once again it doesn't make sense why houston doesn't offer the trade exceptions?????

    BONZI!!!

I would agree with that. Makes perfect sense to me. I could see why he wanted a trade clause since we dealt him last season. But we were only offering four years?? I don't see why we couldn't have thrown in a fifth.

    And re-sign Bogans.

Split the MLE between Banks and Ariza, and sign Bogans and Cato to the minimum.

Yep. If we added those 4, then I'd be a lot happier than if just signed James. This team needs depth desperately, more so than a 3rd scorer. Alston and Howard will give you around 22 ppg combined so they'll provide offense, and Head will be good (hopefully) for 10-12 ppg as well.
