I think we can split the MLE between Banks and Jeffries, use the TE for a forward. We'd still be solid.

let's just think about what could've been

    mike james/rafer/jlIII
    luther head/rudy gay
    yao/deke
    j-ho/stro/hayes
    t-mac/bogans/novak

not the best lineup in the league, but i definitely think it makes the rockets an elite team if they stay healthy....oh what could've been

I think we'll be beating a lot of dead horses before the season is done because, if a player is not old and on his last legs, JVG will turn up his nose.

Unfortunately, we have to turn up our noses at the stinky play of "JVG" players.

Considering what Mobley got last year I'd have to agree with him. I wouldn't want the Rockets to go after him if he was getting those kind of offers though.

Four years from now we will be paying $23 million to TMac, who probably will be retired from his chronic back injury. So why do you care what our cheap-arse owner is paying in 2009-2010 if we can't get under the cap until the summer of 2010, anyway?

That's funny, considerign that 75% of the board was pissed that the team thought about now (Battier) instead of the future (Gay). Folsk will complain no matter what happens.

Since a trade kicker isn't a big deal, can you name 5 players with one? If you can come up with five (or any), I have a $50 tip jar bet that you will come up with an All-Star type of player (i.e. not a journeyman PG).

So the Rockets overpaid in the past, learned from their mistake, won't do it again and this is a problem?

I would as well. But Alston, Battier and Howard don't suck. We almost beat the Mavs startng Ryan Bowen.

There is no player out there that we have the money or trade assets to get that would have improved our roster as much as MJ. The Rockets front office has screwed up this offseason beyond even ZRB's uber-pessimistic imagination.

    So true,

We could have had both but even if we did not have James,

Gay And swift are more valuable assets in their respective positions as well as trade options for the future. You do not give something up like that for an already 10 and 5 guy that is inbetween a Howard and a swift.

    You just DON'T!!!

Dumbass mamagement panicked after the feedback from this trade and put all their eggs in one basket, spoon feeding us the LIE that getting James would slavage their complete BLUNDER.

    Well that failed as well.

As I said before firing these idiots would not be enough.

The damage they have done is close to irreversible.

Yeah, I read that earlier. I emailed Clutch and told him that I just meant that we shouldn't worry that much about it because it does no good with Rockets management. I didn't mean anything by it. I guess I should've just said we shouldn't worry that much about it because it does no good with Rockets management. :)

Info has gotten extremely tight around JVG. I'll know more as the year progresses and once the 'plane leaves the ground.'

Go cheap, it is never about winning now.

You guys are fools. So stupid. Even more stupid than Rox management.

what an idiot...he will not get to the championship quicker than Houston or Dallas...It's about the security...

Again, he is not the missing link for us or the t-wolves either...

I definately agree with you about this. Trade kickers are for Superstars. Mike James is not a Superstar. I think the Rockets made a good decision. He should have to prove his worth stay. If he proves his worth they would have extended him. That's good business from the Rocket's point of view.

I am not taking anything away from Mike Jones, because I think he made the best decision for him. This may be his last really good contract and we did trade him before. Good business from his point of view.

Good point. Why didn't Toronto want him back? Why would a team give up without a fight on a guy that averaged 20 pts per game?

I'm shocked.... but the biggest question I have is: Why didn't Dallas give Mike James what he wanted?

It's one thing for the Rockets to screw this up ... that's becoming the norm. But Dallas had a chance to add a prime asset and Cuban balked at the terms?

Yes, there are players left out there. Are they willing to take less money for value? Do we know? Is a MLE for 4 years that big beal that would choke us in the future vs a 3 year contract?

Mike James was straight forward for wanting more money and contract. But I dont blame him, especially he had been treated like in his own words "cheap prostitute". This day and age, you cant blame a guy for better things. You can only praise a guy with loyalty and heart. But then again, did we reward Stro, or least put up with him for his heart? It's all business.

A screw up is screw up especially when there is no good alternative. I am tire of this management supposedly safe approach while the rest of league dealing like crazy.

Let's all hope we can indeed land on valued players at this point and may he not be Spree.
