Then say it. Say you want to negotiate for the best deal as opposed to some BS about the top priority being to come home. Sorry, being okay with the blatant lies thrown around the last couple of months is what seems immature to me.

THIS is exactly why we traded James for Alston last year. James has always said he would go after the money. I am convinced that he would have bolted the Rockets this summer if we had NOT traded him.

And don't get me started about his stats last season. There were articles in Toronto last season that mentioned how James was intent on "padding" his stats to go after a big contract this summer. Apparently, some of his teammates were not very appreciative of that. One reason why Toronto had absolutely zero interest in bringing James back.

That being said, I would have liked it if the Rockets had gotten James. With him and Alston at PG, the Rockets would be set at that position for a few years.

and extra year is very important to a guy who is 31. I'm not defending james, but I can't blame him for going to play with garnett. minnesota also has a second year who played well down the stretch. its not a bad decision on his part.

If the trade kicker was the main stumbling block, I would be really disappointed to see the Rockets lose out on James over such a small thing. But if it was the 4th year, than I can see where the Rockets are coming from. At least they’re finally thinking long term. Better late than never.

Oh well...I was a lot more disappointed over the draft day trade than I am losing out on Mike James.

Battier, Alston and Howard aren't nobodies. Alston is a solid PG (average). Battier is an above avg SF that can hit the open shot. Howard is a below avg PF, but he can hit the open shot.

We won over 50 games when our role players were Sura, Howard and Barry. We took the Mavs to 7 when our role players were Sura, Barry, James and we had freaking Ryan bowen starting.

We need depth and youth, but going to war with a line-up of Alston, T-Mac, Battier, Howard and Ming is not the end of the world. If T-Mac is healthy and Yao plays like a star then we should contend.

Too bad. So sorry to head the news.
Why can't we give the player's option in the third year and the trade kicker? Those requirements indicate that James is serious on wining. He will play hard at least in the next two years. Otherwise, he wouldl not ask for the player's option.

It's about the money you say? We'd have had his Early Bird Rights and offered him a $6M start year. If was never, ever about not being able to keep him. Or, did I miss those big offers from ATL, CHA and CHI?

Man, screw the Rockets' management. And screw you apologist fans who blindly think us lowballing James was a good move.

Time for someone to start a new website: SellTheRockets.com.

why are there still some rockets' front office apologists out there?

this is beyond ridiculous....this is like an abusive relationship....the rockets management treats us like **** and we still come back for more, because we can't or won't stop supporting this team....what a way to treat your fans

i love how each time the rockets' front office screws up the apologists come out and tell us not to get all worked up and tell us that there's still a lot of offseason left for the rockets to make improvements...just keeping telling yourself that and before you know it the season is gonna be right around the corner and the rockets will still only be a 1st round playoff team with 2 superstars on it

When was the last time the Rockets got pass the first round? Going to minny and play with Garnett is "not want to win"?

Houston was smart??? At this point the Timberwolves have done a lot better job of upgrading their backcourt than the Rockets. They added Foye and James. They may not be NBA SG tall, but they can play. I think Foye will contribute more than Luther Head did his firtst year. They'll also be more fun to watch.

What have the Rockets done to improve their backcourt? The season hasn't started yet, but given Rockets management's track record, it doesn't look good.

Why all the Mike James hating? The Rockets are lucky he even considered them after they traded him. I'd want a trade clause too before deciding to return.

Why is everyone hating on Marcus Banks so much. He is a 24 year old that is continually improving. I guess you guys did not see his stats last year when he was given 30+ minutes on Minny. Well I will show them to you. He shot 48%FG 36.4 3PT% 77.8%FT. 3rbs 4.7as 12.0pts. Oh and did I mention he is 24 years old. If you guys don't think those stats are good for a PG then you don't understand basketball. I realize James has better stats but he shot a lot more than James did. Banks is a better passer although the stats don't say so. I would be happy with Banks and a tall talented SG which gives us depth. You guys act like the offseason is over. The Banks situation is similar to Sura's I think because no one really cared about getting Sura although he had an awesome half season with the Hawks.

Good thing he is not coming back. I dont really believe we need a 3rd scorer. We already have 2 superstars, all we need is someone who can defend and knock down some open jumpers, not someone who constantly needs the ball in his hands.

Also, I dont understand why everyone is saying Mike James will be #2 in Minny, remember they got Ricky Davis who is also a 20/5/5 guy.

We had James and Sura then.
Dont fool yourself thinking Alston, Bogans, Battier, etc are of same caliber as Sura and James. We all have seen them play before. I seriously doubt we could even pass the 2nd round playing our best with those supporting cast. No way.

Now, and what if Tmac or Yao is down again? Dont you we need a big scorer like Mike James.

Finally a good decision by management. It would of been crazy of them to outbid Cubes.

At least James gets to be no.2 in Minny.

True, good points. However, he said how he wanted be a part of something big. He said he thought what he was doing for Toronto last season would be for the Rockets on a playoff run. And so on... That will be a good situation for him in Minnesota, but he knows he'll have nowhere near as good of a chance at another title with them as he would with Houston or Dallas.

    THE BIG PAYBACK???

Well, Mike James has extracted a degree of revenge on the ROX for trading him for the inept little psycho guard Rafer "Prozac" Alston. I knew from the beginning this would be another heart break for those fans who wanted James to return to the ROX! I said it once and I will say it again, as long and that "militant midgit" remains coach, the team will continue to go downhill. When will Les get it that no one wants to play that walk it down style basketball. When will he understand that fans will not continue to pay to watch a team that is alledgely built on defense, but cannot defend anyone. As the Toyota Center attendance continue to fade, maybe Les will feel the pinch and fire that little idiot!!!!!
