It's about value over other alternatives. When the secondary alternative is Marcus Banks, you seal the deal with James.

rockets drop the ball agian...I can't blame him for signing with the wolves...I was mad at him when I first hear, but he just wanted to not get thrown around the leauge every trade deadline I can understand that.I'm still pretty pissed at him, but I understand where he is comming from.

I'm on your bandwagon, I think either of these guys would be great as a back up two. I really like Ely too he has always played well when given playing time.

What's up with V-span though? If were splitting the MLE meaning were not landing Banks or Fred Jones I would rather take a chance on V-span than any of the dregs still available, Jauque Vaughn anyone?

    James is a fruitcake.

Minny sure has a bunch of guards now

    Jaric
    Banks
    Foye
    Hassell
    McCants
    Booker T (Troy Hudson)
    James

We dissed James twice in two years, including trading him to Canada for a lesser player.

All he wanted was a fair deal to return and so that the Rockets couldn't reship him to Canada. WE SCREWED IT UP.

It is hard to imagine a more visionless and bungling organization who was practically handed Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady to build a contender around.

Other than James saying he wanted to come to Houston, this is nothing like the Beltran situation.

Also, don't think he didn't watch what we did Swift. There was a reason he wanted that trade kicker.

let me see, going to play with one of the ten best players in the league, you get to be second fiddle, that player arguably needs a guy like you to close out games, but you don't care about winning because you didn't pick the rockets.

Please stop with the "management doesn't want to win now" posts. If our two stars sack up and play like the stars they are supposed to be (both in the top 5 at their positions, supposedely) then we will be ok. We aren't guarenteed to win a title with them (who ever is), but if they sack up then we should contend.

Stockton & Malone contended. Shaq and Kobe contended. Shaq and Penny contended. Old Shaq and Wade contended. Old Clyde and old Hakeem always contended (when healthy). Jordan and Pippen contended. Be happy that we have our star players and hope they are healthy and play like stars. You b**** about stars...not role players....

I was hoping James would be a guy who put winning first, someone who might even take less money so the team could still look for more help. James isn't that guy and I would never blame a guy for taking more money he just wouldn't have been a "team first" guy on the Rockets. Combine that with the fact his numbers are inflated on a bad team and he's in his later 30's and this wasn't the guy for the Rockets.

All of our role players are nobodies. You still need decent players around your 2 stars. Here's hoping JL3 and Novak come in ready to play.

And he kept proving them wrong, starting from them overlooking him 2 offseasons ago, and then again trading him for a player who James has shown to be far superior to.

The fact is we are more desperate now than if we have James.
What's irrational. 3 year vs 4 year. CD has handed out far worse contract to Moochie, Taylor and now all of sudden we are stingy about one more year on the contract for a key target.
The only explaination I can think of is Sura is getting better.
