sweet fancy moses!! they were in the nat l title hunt last year. and now this like..such as...south africa
I like michigan, their jerseys are perrty. anyone remember the "What's Happening Episode" when Dwayne was picking NFL teams and he was successful and his bro in law asked him what his system was and he said the color of the helmets
I know that there's gotta be one random guy in some random Vegas sports book that dropped $20 on appalachian state just for the hell of it. that guy is now at spearmint rhino
this isn't as damaging as people think for a few reasons: 1 - it doesn't count toward Big 10 standings, so Michigan's chances at an automatic BCS birth aren't affected at all by this loss. 2- this is against a 1-AA team, which means the game will not even be registered by most or all of the computers. So Michigan will be fine if they play well the rest of the season. Unless they really do suck this bad, in which case they're screwed.
Can a Div. I-AA team even be ranked in the same poll? Great win by Appalachian State though. I guess that Paul Crewe theory was put to rest today, huh? LOL!
True about the BCS birth but Michigan was a top 5 team. Top 5 teams usually aspire to reach the National Championship game and not just a BCS bowl. Why do computers even matter at all now? Yeah, if they win out they'll get to a BCS game but otherwise it's a disappointing season.
It really is that damaging, because they are going to get massacred in the polls. They can still win the Big Ten of course, but they have no shot at a national title. Edit: You also have to consider the possibility that this pushes Carr off the cliff, especially if they struggle against Oregon next week. If Carr announces he's going to retire after this year, or is politely shoved into retirement, will that motivate Michigan more - or turn them into a direction-less team with a lame-duck coach.
exactly right. as long as the polls are still a component, this will kill michigan's chances of aspiring to the national championship.
Yeah, will first you have to give a crap about Michigan or Appalachian State. I have better things to do. Go Delaware!
