on my way to get a Gallinari jersey...should be buy one get one free......Denver just mortgaged its immediate future...they'll be movin to St.Louis in 4 years
The new CBA hasn't been written yet so we don't quite know how it will all unfold. Chris Paul wanting to be a Knick isn't the same as Melo wanting to be a Knick because Paul knows that whatever deal he signs, it's going to be under the new CBA (whatever that may be) so he can still make his way to the Knicks without having a max contract (if that still exists in the new CBA). I agree that the Knicks parted with A LOT for Melo and it'll bite them in the ass later, but this gives them a shot at getting Paul or Deron simply because Melo and Amare are there. After all, it's either sign a max contract with their respective teams and suffer with mediocrity or take lesser money, play with your buddies, gain huge endorsements in NY, and have a shot at the Finals.
Forget it. The Knicks are stuck behind the Celts, Bulls and Heat. Even if the Celts keel over after this season, the Bulls and Heat will remain better than the Knicks. LeBron/Wade/Bosh blow away Amare/Melo/???. If you factor in D'Antoni not being that good a coach, I don't see the Knicks making the Finals unless they get another superstar. Billups doesn't have as much gas as you think. He can play well in spurts; that's about it.
I agree, but our pick swap is worthless for sure, unless Stoudemire and/or Anthony get injured. Hmmm....
no they're not. http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/20...810_1_james-and-bosh-dwyane-wade-lebron-james wade, bosh, bron all came into the L the same year. they qualified for they were all qualified for $125 mil/6 year instead, bron and bosh signed $110 mil/6 year, and wade $107mil/6year hence they had money left over to sign MM and others (miller signed a $36 mil/6 year contract too or something like that)
Zeke's name keeps getting mentioned and it's probably nonsense, but if he goes back to the Knicks, I will dislike them more than the Lakers.
LOL the more I look at this picture the more I'm thinking "yeaaaa this looks like a Zeke trade" (i.e. give up a buttload for one player)
I dont know about that...they'll be interesting with billups, but once he's gone they're a 2 man team...and neither of them play defense well. They're going to need more help to challenge the Heat.
it's true you need a superstar. but you also need a balanced roster. you can argue a prime yao/tmac are better than these 2 and we couldn't do jack. you need balanced and good role players by trading 3/5 of your starting lineup and some, you really have just melo and amare now, with an aging billups. unless NY can pull a morey with role players, they're not a top 3 team in the east anytime soon.
Yeah, this is good for the Rockets in a way. Now teams will be more willing to talk trade and this gives us a few more days to get something done.
