The Carmelo Anthony trade saga is finally over.

The Nuggets traded Melo to the New York Knicks tonight, a league source said. Denver gets Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, the Knicks 2014 first-round draft pick, the Warriors' 2012 second-round pick, the Warriors' 2013 second-round pick and $3 million in cash.

Anthony will go to New York, along with Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman.

Anthony was not at the Nuggets' practice as the team resumed workouts following the All-Star break.

Looks like Denver wanted to reload on the fly...don't see them trading Nene in this situation.

I don't where this guy gets his info but he is always pretty accurate and has news before major media does.

 

I think they'll still move him. No point in keeping large contracts when your team isn't going anywhere. The way they have their team now, Denver is trying to go the Portland/OKC route and just have good players playing on cheap rookie contracts (IMO, best way to rebuild). If another team has something great to offer for any of their new players, move them. If not, keep them and roll the dice.

 

Fine, he's not re center we need. Just hope its honestly done, so tired of this.

I actually think Paul would take less than max money to play in New York.

 

That's true... Amare will be making almost $20 mil in 2012-13, and Melo $21-22 million. If the cap is decreased like Stern wants in the new CBA, it's going to be very very difficult to pay another max player.

 

Wow Denver got everybody on that team except for Amare/Fields.
