James would pick us over dallas. First, he would be one good player among many. He would have to fight off Terry and Harris for playing time. And then share the ball with Howard, Stackhouse and Dirk. That's one of six people that want the ball. How many shots will he get there? Will he even get to start? Will he get to play at clutch time? Sorry, but Harris is the future of the Mav's backcourt. That kid's got game.

James has a house here. If he comes here, it's to be a legit 3rd scoring option. His job would be to put the ball in the hole. If money's not a factor, he's coming here. He has a ring, that's secondary.

How does keeping Gay prevent the Rockets from win now? There's a chance for a rookie to be part of a championship team, look at Sam Cassel. And if Gay makes too many rookie mistakes to be counted on, the Rockets can trade him after half a season to maximize his trade value and bring in veterans. Unless the Rockets think he's just a scrub the minute he steps on the floor, which is very unlikely considering his talent level.

Gay is not Eddie Griffin. Gay is more polished and a better athlete. Gay is not a headcase like Griffin. Gay is not as unmotivated as Griffin. The low point is despite being inferior to Gay, Griffin averaged 9/6 in his ROOKIE year as opposed to Shane the rich man's Wesley's 10/5.

    Ouch, that hurts.

Winning now is not a reason, it's an excuse.

BTW. If the Rockets sign Mike James, it's not surprising to see that people will down play Mike James' contribution and place the accolades in the hands of Shane Battier to cover up this stupidity. It doesn't matter anymore to me, they suck in my book.
