Probably my least favorite read from High School, but that is one star studded cast so might check it out. Although I don't know who Samantha Barks is, I'm sure anyone would be better than Taylor Swift.

Wow ,I'm excited for it.I'm a fan of the singing in 25th annivesary version.I'm excited to see how Jackman & Hathaway played in their respective roles. Here's a parody of one day more btw <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/8majjGwwDZY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Hmm I dont know much about the novel except that the plot is during the French revolution (right?). As much as I read in high school I am really surprised I never read this one. That said, I guess I will try to go watch it. It looks promising.
I've been to see the West End musical Les Mis three times already, it's absolutely amazing. Samantha Barks is a legit theatre singer, Jackman is good. No idea about Russel Crowe though.
I've never read the book, though I'll probably try one day. And I had only heard of the musical but never knew much about it or thought about seeing it until I visited a friend in NYC and he suggested it. Since then I've seen others but it remains my favorite.
I read that Cameron Mackintosh always had Crowe and Jackman in mind for the movie leads, but had Crowe as Valjean and Jackman as Javert. Not sure why he switched them.
Yeah, I guess Crowe has always seemed bigger and burlier to me but looking it up Jackman is actually 6'2" 210lbs whereas Crow is only 5'10"/11".
Clips from On My Own, A Heart Full of Love, and At The End of the Day, respectively: Spoiler <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/VvzLZIiD5TU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Spoiler <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/SVFr56GR1mo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Spoiler <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/vHwyCp6ah6U" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I'm sold.
I'm sold too. Samantha Barks is as good as in 25th les Concert.I'm really glad when she's casted in the movie. And I have no idea Hathaway can sing. this is a clip they sang one day more http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Les-Miserables-Watch-Full-One-Day-More-Scene-34736.html
Loved the movie. The theater was full and people even applauded at the end. There were none of the actors that I didn't like; Russell Crowe held his own among the Broadway types.
