Doesn't seem like the best argument in the world. Humans are orders of magnitude more intelligent than any other species. I could just as easily argue that the fact that we drink another animal's milk when no other species does is due to our intelligence in comparison

No, people will still eat meat

People don't enjoy when others try and dictate what they should do. It hasn't been conclusively proven that one is much better for you than the other (I've read articles that explain why going vegan is unhealthy). I think I believe that being vegetarian is probably healthier if you work to get your protein and all and are smart about it... but there are enough arguments on both sides for me to not be able to say that conclusively

If you want me to reduce my waste or reduce my water or energy consumption, charge the **** out of it for me. Make some price distinctions to drive behavior if it's really systemic (but they won't do that until it's proven for sure, which it hasn't been..). Don't just tell people they need to do 1 thing or another

I am personally responsible for lots of wasted salad. I buy it when I go grocery shopping because I know I should eat more of it, but when the time comes to prepare a dinner, I just can't do it. I need some got dayum meet.

not a good thing, but a sign that things in general are good (i.e. we have more food than we need). But something (farm subsidies) is interfering with market forces if waste and inefficiency exist over the long term.

The problem in a place like Sudan is access to food, not a lack of global supply.

This is misguided. People are the most valuable resource on the planet. The only way to grow the wealth of the planet is for people to use limited resources to create things of greater value.

I hear you. I care about people and don't want to see them in poverty or starving, especially children but some people just have no regard for their ability to raise children or at best don't have the resources available to do so yet they bring so many kids in the world. For starters, you have people like OctoMom but even in the Third World (or should I say, especially in the Third World) it's an issue.

I was watching an infomercial for a charity that helps starving and sick people in Haiti and this one lady had 10 children. Really? 10 children? Perhaps she had no access to contraception but damn, how the hell can you raise 10 children in Haiti? You really can't even do that in US anymore short of welfare unless you're really rich or have a farm let alone in one of the poorest countries in the world. And the sad thing is that it's not fair to the children because they're born into an environment where no one can take care of their needs, especially in the early years and the cycle repeats because they end up on some charity's commercial with a sad face, get the supplies needed to reach adulthood and have 5-10 children of their own. No wonder they're eating dirt in Haiti:

Third World people having all of these children is a huge reason for the spoiler below (most developed nation's population is relatively stable) ,so while I hate idea of population control, especially how it seems to target blacks first, as well as almost telling people how many kids they can have, it's almost a necessary evil:

Yeah but we still lack basic instincts, like how animals know disaster is at hand and we don't know it till it's imminent (research, for example, how some animals knew the 2004 Tsunami was about to hit and ran inland minutes before it came). Regardless of that, dairy is bad for you to begin with and the quality of the milk the typical consumer has gotten has gotten worse both because of the injections that have been put into the cows/milk and the fact that these animals are milked almost literally to death and the puss count in milk has risen astronomically because of blood and feces creeping into it. Like I said, for more, go here for starters:

    www.notmilk.com

I don't get any sinus or allergy issues unless I have anything with dairy or eggs, especially dairy. Switch to soy, almond or rice milk and avoid all dairy for a month. You'll be shocked at how little you sneeze, if at all.

No argument there, of course people will still eat meat and they don't like being told what to eat but instead of complaining and blaming the food companies for being greedy when the price of food skyrockets as it has been, people at large need to realize their lifestyle choices has a major effect on the price of consumer goods. We don't live on a planet of infinite resources and while a few understand that, so many ignorant people don't get it, which is why it's important people get the word out. Thus people should (I accidentally left that word out) consider going vegan or at least cut down on their meat consumption.

As for being a vegan, I can testify it's time consuming and hardly fulfilling if not done right not to mention expensive, especially if eating all organic plants and it's not realistic for most people. But it can be done right, you just need lots of complete proteins like quinoa as well rice and beans. Like I said, it's time consuming and not realistic for most, which is why people should at least consider reducing their meat intake.

I haven't had any dairy at all this month. I still sneeze like I always did.

Do you eat eggs? Also, the month is only halfway through so it may take more time to get out of your system. I heard dairy allergies can strike 40 days after consumption (don't quote me on that though).

And you do still have muscus membranes regardless of how you eat, they just won't be nearly as active as when you have dairy products.

I eat eggs, maybe 2/week. I'm more susceptible to seasonal allergies than food allergies. I don't understand what you mean by mucus membranes... Of course I have them this is winter isn't it; they are working overtime in the cold.

In other words, drinking milk increases the amount of mucus you have and makes it more likely you'll be sick via allergies, sinus congestion or chest inflammation.

When I was a young child, the doctor told me not to drink anything above 1% milk and that I should try to drink skim milk because the thicker the milk was, the worse my asthma was. Lots of inflammation, lots of neutralizer treatments, sneezing, etc... Trust me, it's very much true and now that I no longer drink or consume dairy at all with rare exception, it's extremely noticeable what happens when I do, as I'll start getting a runny nose full of snot and start sneezing. Bear in mind, I don't take medicine of any kind in regards to allergies or sinus pressure, especially pharmaceuticals.

Like I said, just research it and try to go without milk, dairy or even egg products for a period of time. The results should be noticeable.

Milk can make mucus more thick, but it doesn't necessarily increase the amount of mucus, and studies have shown that. If you already have some health problems with your respiration then I could see how milk may not be the best. But milk effects people in different ways, i've never had much of an issue with it personally.

Do you take medicine to repress it though? And like I said before, it's completely illogical to drink the milk of another animal. Many doctors back me up on that and some would say so but fear being chastised and blacklisted in their profession for saying what they actually feel. It's that way with a lot of fields while I'm at it.

Milk literally leaves a main ingredient of furniture glue (casein) in your chest before digesting. Does that sound healthy?
