I must say... you definitely give me the most "laugh out loud in the office so that everyone awkwardly looks at me" moments of anyone on this board. Chalk up another one.
How was this disrespectful? Was it the dancing? The fact that they looked like they were having fun? Not ritualistic enough? Please tell me exactly where the disrespect occurred. Thanks.
Whoomp there it is. Just let Swoly have his opinion and move on. There's really no point. He has the most judgmental, holier-than-thou attitude on every topic, no matter how inane. Well done. Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo is still the most realistic WWII movie today. Cased closed. Band of Brothers? Saving Private Ryan? Psshhh....It makes them look like Saved By The Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas movie.
I think it was very original and fun. Who am I to dictate how any couple chooses to share and celebrate their relationship in front of God or anyone else? I'm pretty sure that if the religious figurehead of that church (pastor, father, reverend, whatever their title may be) had a problem with their entrance routine, it would have been discussed and resolved before the freakin' ceremony. I mean, they have wedding rehearsals for a reason. So if the head of that particular church didn't find it objectionable, then who are we to raise a stink about it?
Hmmmm....not everyone thinks like you dude. You got me shaking my head today. But we all have our opinions.
Looks like they had fun.. I thought it'd be stupid, but I enjoyed it. They enjoyed themselves, they did something different, but didn't seem super self-absorbed about it. Come on on the "disrespectful" stuff.. it'd be hard to imagine them NOT getting permission (considering they probably rehearsed it there) And yeah, I like that it's a different ceremony instead of always going traditional there and then saving "fun" for the reception. Why can't your whole day be fun for you?
Not to mention the song was playing over the church PA and a church employee was probably running the sound. It's not like they had a groomsman playing it on a boombox.
I went to a wedding where they came down the aisle to the Imperial March from Star Wars. It was awesome.
though man.. that would have been pretty hiarious if the first guy out had a boombox (not w/actual music cause it would have sounded bad...but pretending to be the "1st guy w/the music for the dance") on his shoulder and some sunglasses..
Why is it that whenever I see something like this I usually think, "Kids getting married?" As in, there won't be an open bar at the reception because the bride is under the legal drinking age.
